Non-peaceful mobs (monsters) don't spawn underground (or in caves or dark ravines) during day even though the lighting conditions should allow them to spawn there during the day but they do spawn during night in the same location.

No, this doesn't happen in 0.14.0. Mobs do spawn underground during day (but I found a really weird exception to this; I'll create a new issue for it later). @unknown marked MCPE-12422 as a duplicate of this but that's not correct.
