I recently got myself an xbox series x and have had no issues with Minecraft until the recent hot fix of 1.16.201. Just to be clear this affects only realms, I have had no issues with multiplayer/singleplayer worlds. This issues only happens with Minecraft and I know how impossible it will be to prove 100% that realms is the issue but no other game does this to my xbox. The problem itself is that whenever I go on realms, I can play for maybe a max of 2 minutes then the game freezes and my xbox turns off. This has happened with one other game before, being Call of Duty Cold War, but they seemed to have fixed this issue in their latest updates. I have had no problems with Minecraft before this update. I have contacted Microsoft support for the xbox being the cause of the problem and I have done everything they've suggested to fix any hardware issues that could the culprit. It comes down to either Minecraft being terribly optimized for this new console, or this patch update has messed something up that has completely broken Minecraft Realms. This issue is currently making the game unplayable and I think is quite appropriate to be fixed in the coming updates.

I have a similar effect with my Series X - I am unable to join my own realm on the Series X - every time trying to launch it just drops me to the home screen. I can join the realm from my PC as well as my smartphone, but the Series X is giving me headaches. Other games run well on the Series X, so I also suspect some sort of incompatibility with the latest Nether update.
