This issue has been in Bedrock since the beginning and it has never been fixed.
You basically cannot join your friend, unless you join your own world and leave. Sometimes that won't even fix the issue. I literally had to delete the whole game and reinstall at one point to get rid of the issue. Please fix this, everytime a patch comes out, random issues that have never even happened to me get fixed, when this one doesn't 😞
I play on PS4 so this is from my experience, but I've heard they happen on all platforms too. This issue is so irritating I honestly just wanted to stop playing.
Plus: Other online games work just fine, I am only having issues with Minecraft, and my NAT type is open.
