Since updating to 1.16.201, we've seen significant issues loading local worlds. Sometimes the loading screen gets stuck halfway on the gray bars, sometimes it gets past that to the "help text" screens, but it can take 5-10 minutes for a local world to load and render. We've also noticed problems where Minecraft will crash within 1-2 minutes of loading a world, starting the whole process over again.
We have two iPad 7th gen and one iPad Pro 9.7", all three of which are experiencing this issue. The iPads are up-to-date with ipadOS 14.4 and Minecraft is 1.16.201 on all of them.
We've tried the following, but nothing resolves the issue. It keeps coming back.
Exit and reopen Minecraft
Restart iPad
Archive and re-install Minecraft (preserving data)
Delete all worlds and create a new one
Fully delete and re-install Minecraft

Can confirm same behavior on iPad Pro 12.9β first gen.
larger worlds like my 482mb survival world take longer to load
logging out in an area of largely unedited chunks takes less time to load on restart
crashes are more frequent in chunks containing any amount of storageΒ
