[MCPE-117952] Cant see other peoples chats

So I was playing on my friend's realm and noticed I couldn't see people's chat messages, I could see my own and I could see when people left/joined my chat was unmuted, but only my chat messages were showing up, is there an actual way to fix this or am i being stupid?
