During lightening storm, fire - or lightening - managed to penetrate 3 solid blocks (From the surface) four blocks of air and another solid block of nether brick, to burn wood in one of my structures. No other ignition sources were present and i have had the underground structure up and running for some 25 gameplay hours with out any flames until the storm.
