You can make a scaffolding ghost block in minecraft bedrock and this ghost block is interactable, It will only update when you place another gravity affected block e.g. sand. The scaffolding block will not go away even if you relog on the world

How to reproduce

Step 1: Make a piston that faces forwrd that retracts and extends simultaneously and make sure it is fast enough using a redstone clock

Step 2: Place a block at the face of the piston 1 block away and another on top of the block

Step 3: Spam click the scaffolding above the piston head which will cause the scaffolding to get supported and unsupported fast enogh until it creates a ghost block.

This ghost block can still drop itself when mined. This is also climable but it does not have a collision box. You can still placw blocks tat are not gravity affected and needs a block supporting it below

I still can't build a mechanism. Could you please attach a video...

Is this still an issue in the latest version (1.17.2)? If so, can you please add it to the affected versions (or mention it if you are not the reporter).
