Since update 1.14.20, I have been unable to access the marketplace and many online features. In version 1.16.00 the Account Error -9 popup has been removed but the problems it caused still remain. In my case I am not logged in to a Microsoft account. I have tried logging into a friends Microsoft account and once I logged in everything went back to the way it should be. However, once I logged out, everything reverted back to the way it was. I play on Nintendo Switch but have seen that it affects other platforms as well. It appears that there are ways to fix it if the affected user had a Microsoft account linked to it but not if their was no Microsoft account linked at the time the error occurred.
