Why is it that if you create for example a map and it is automatically called map 1 and then try create another map it will say map 2 and then another it will say map 3. But if you then destroy map 3 and map 2 and then try to create another map then it will be called map 4 instead of map 2. Why does this happen and how do you fix it? Each time you create a map and want to destroy/ redo a map and then create a another map it will just keep creating a new map in increments of 1 eg. map 1, 4, 5, 6. Instead of just creating a new map with the other map ID. How do I fix this?

Yeah I tried that but it doesn't make a difference. When you change the name it makes it Italic and if you create a new map it will skip to the next number that you haven't done. For example, if you change the map name from Map 4 to Map 2 and then create a new map then the new map will say Map 5 instead of Map 3. How do you fix this?
the reason is that the object of the card that you are holding in your hand only contains a link to the image and its NBT data. if you delete the item, then you only delete the link to the data. at the same time, the data itself is stored in a different place and when you delete the item, the cards will still continue to be numerated as if nothing was deleted(edited).
This is what people who understand the game better than the creators, 'Mojang' said about this. How do you fix this? Mojang you could be of some use now. Now is your time to shine make yourself useful.
Why is nobody replying to this. What is the point of reporting a bug here if nobody is going to look at it.

Fix this problem for once. Why do you mark this as resolved if it is not resolved. This needs to be fixed this affects every single Minecraft user in every version. Why do Mojang say to report a bug here if they do not even look at it. Does Mojang even see these bug reports or care.
Can confirm, but may be WF/feature request because this would require special handling on counting the number of maps with each ID.
