random lagging crashes the game

this has been happening a lot since the last update but it's gotten real bad over the past couple weeks. I will be playing and I go to access the menu, open a chest, open my inventory, or open the chat and suddenly it stays stuck on a loading screen for a very long time. then there's been times when this is happening and at the same time the world sort of glitches and I can sort of see through the walls and underground or the screen will just show placed items but not the actual terrain. (this also happens when I first enter a world but usually the world loads after a few seconds but the random severe lagging comes later). I know it can't be my internet because the signal strength is strong and this just happens randomly. after the game usually crashes after lagging for a few minutes.
