I was at the bottom of a ravine, next to a chunk that generated the new depths and cave, and got pushed into a hole in the bedrock. I was pushed by the water into a hole of lava. As I swam back to the top of the lava, the lava disappeared and I dropped further into the hole. The sides of the hole we're all bedrock, so there was no getting out.

-1044200535. There were 4 other holes in the map, like the one I fell in to, in that same area at the bottom of the ravine.
repro steps:
1. load a new creative world with the seed -1044200535, preferably set render distance to 40 chunks (I'm not sure but I think it can change rendering caves, that's what I had set to when reproducing) and teleport to -1753 ~ -861. wait for the chunks to load completely.
2. exit the world, in the world settings turn the caves&cliffs toggle on, and load the copy.
3. go to -1818 ~ -861 and go all the way down.
4. notice the issue.
The hole is covered by bedrock at the end but nonetheless this seems to be not expected.
Is this still an issue in the latest version? Terrain generation changed in 1.18: Caves and Cliffs: Part 2. The latest beta is 1.21.30.21 at the time of writing this comment. This bug may not be reproducible anymore.
