When I am connected to cellular data and try joining my friends it won’t let me and then it says connecting to multiplayer game and then it says unable to connect to world

I checked the search options for that ticket number and none of those issues are what I am having we are both iOS users
when he invites me I click on the invite and it says connecting to multiplayer game and then says unable to connect to world
this is only happening when I am connected to cellular data
it does work when I am connected to Wi-Fi
