Locating Server

When my girlfriend tries to join my world, her screen gets stuck on the locating server page. Her avatar appears in my world, though she has not connected. The avatar floats above the ground and cannot be killed to respawn. We have restarted the PC, reinstalled the app and even tried different worlds, nothing works. This has been going on for over a month now and is extremely disappointing
