[MCPE-131727] Unable to update from original Switch edition.

We have a Nintendo switch with the below Minecraft edition which is stating it has an update. The game is 2.5 months old.
We cannot do the upgrade as the two screens shown come on repeat.
It is attached to the internet.
We have turned it all off and back on.
We cannot download this from the eshop as it is asking us to buy a whole new game.
Nintendo Switch customer support cannot help as told us to report a bug. How do we rectify this and update our Minecraft ?

Is this still an issue in the latest version (1.17.11)? If so, can you please add it to the affected versions (or mention it if you are not the reporter).
