My friends sister was playing Minecraft when she came across some weird light ghost thing in her Minecraft world you can see every thing behind it but you cannot interact with it

Are there any add-ons applied to that world?

No she said there were no mods added to the game.

Is there a chance she was playing on Minecraft Education Edition? I am pretty sure it has a gost-like entity in the game.
