[MCPE-137799] Cannot join friend's world

For the past several months (maybe a year??idk) I have been unable to play pocket edition multiplayer with my friends and family. I cannot join their world and they can't join mine. I have not tampered with my settings. I do not have an Xbox console to check. I have put in a few requests but I'm still having this issue. Pls help :'(
