Bonemeal applied to mushrooms on Podzol should grow into huge mushrooms, the same as Mycelium.
Used over a stack of bonemeal at night, and still no giant mushroom.

Confirmed on 0.15.4 in all modes and realms.
Note: Mushrooms will propagate in daylight on podzol. But, they will not grow into giant mushrooms @[MCPE Mod] rplatham 's conclusion seems correct.

Confirmed on Samsung Galaxy S6 (SM-G920W8), Android 5.1.1, MCPE 0.14.0 in single player creative.
My tests: neither red nor brown mushrooms would grow into huge mushrooms on podzol. I replaced the podzol block with dirt and both types of mushrooms grew when I applied bone meal. Bonemeal also worked for both mushrooms on Mycelium.
Conclusion bonemealing mushrooms that are planted on Podzol is broken.
