A few minutes before this I was mining some diamonds that I found. Then I wanted to put iron ore in the furnace. When I were in the furnace the iron item wasn't shown (another bug) so I decided to put all my items in a chest and close minecraft and open it again. When I went to open the chest all my items weren't in there. And I lost the diamonds!

As an alternative, this might be related to MCPE-12347.
This might be because Minecraft did not save correctly. It will auto save about every 10-15 seconds, but if you closed Minecraft without hitting quit to title, then it won't have saved.
