Intermittently the game will crash and close, causing a rollback of blocks placed/broken, as well as items going missing from my inventory. It's difficult to reproduce reliably, but happens fairly often, and at times a couple of hours worth of changes can roll back. It also affects creative maps.
One example of this happening:
When other's join my PC via LAN/WiFi, there will occasionally be a stall then a crash, usually when someone is using a chest, or going through a portal. When I reload the game and map, a lot of progress has been rolled back, including inventory items, buildings etc, but not usually XP. Oddly not everything gets rolled back to a set point, but most things do. It's as if the game only autosaves a certain amount of data.
One small workaround I have found is to periodically get everyone to leave the LAN, then I exit the map and restart it; this seems to force a 'save'. It's not really acceptable though, as it should be autosaving much more reliably without any intervention.
TL;DR-
1: Game randomly crashes for no apparent reason.
2: Map is rolled back, making items and building work disappear.

"Relates" to MCPE-11643
@unknown, although similar, I don't this is related to the bug that you reported.
I think the connected devices are causing my Win 10 version to crash, and the rollback is more than just a couple of items.
I also don't think the problem I am reporting is related to a lack of memory.
Furthermore, in one of these rollbacks, an area I cleared and built a portal in disappeared. When I rebuilt the portal nearby to the one that disappeared, and travelled through and back again, it spawned me in the blocks where the original portal was (now dirt blocks), and then crashed.
This leads me to think it is to do with a world save issue.

Crashes causing the world rollback, it would causing the inventory is still saved. Not only crashed, not enough RAM can also produce the bug, crash in-game, or other reasons. On MCPE-11643 in the comments section, it happened with me to when I was farmed wheat.

About the chests or portal crashed the game not related to my issue, but the world saving issues is related to my issue.
I'm not sure what you mean by "it would causing the inventory is still saved" (English please)
However, my inventory is not getting saved, I've lost high level enchanted tools and also 8 saddles due to the bug I'm reporting. And again, my pc is not running out of memory.

Sorry about my language, I mean "sometimes when the world rollback, the inventory is still saved". Well, I think about the inventory saved or not just for specific device. And again, sorry if you not understand my language.
It's all good, I just hope they fix these bugs soon 🙂

A similar thing has happened to me. Occasionally (about 2 or 3 times) with minecraft is demanding a lot of processing power (like going into the nether (while jumping and eating chicken to be specific))it crashes and everything related to the client is saved (inventory, xp), but the last several minutes of server related stuff (blocks placed/removed, chest items, ect.) is deleted.
Still having crashes in 0.14.0 b3
This time in creative, and some placed blocks are getting rolled back.
Man this is getting annoying, just rolled back about 2 hours work, materials lost 👎 (0.13.1 Win 10)

The frequency of random crash has significantly grown in 0.14.0 alpha compared to 0.13.x. As a software engineer, I am sorely aware that fixing these kind of bugs is nearly impossible unless a crash dump is available. Mojang, I genuinely recommend that you implement a feature that produces a crash dump (containing at least a stacktrace and contents of registers for each thread) and automatically sends it to your server with possibly a user's permission.
I actually thought it had been fixed in 0.14.0 - but we've just had a pretty big crash and rollback again 😞
I also accidentally closed the program using alt+f4, which caused a fairly big rollback. At least it might make the bug partially reproducible for the developers. (Not for the random crashes of course, but if it didn't roll back every time it crashed that would be a bit better)

It happened to me several times and many of my maps and items deleted. I play PE 0.14.0 on ipad air 2, iOS 9.3.

Still affects 0.14.1. And the frequency of random crash is a little lower than 0.14.0 but is still way higher than 0.13.x.
Still badly affects 0.14.2

I think it does this to try to remove the issue.

Experiencing this on 0.14.2 on iPad Pro, iPad Air 2 and iPhone SE, all running iOS 9.3.1.

Sometimes when i'm playing in creative mode (not on LAN/WIFI) game crash.
It happens when there are so many redstone buildings or spawners working and I'm trying to fly.

I have a similar issue on 14.2 iOS. I find if I don't back out of the game or the rare occurrence it crashes I will loose progress and have to build something again. The place where the building was being done is reset back to normal but the items originally used to build it don't get reset. So if I used a lot of iron for hoppers the hoppers are gone and so is the iron. Quite frustrating

When I am building my buildings, all the sudden I see a black screen for a little while and iOS main screen. Game crashed, I can tell by what I see.
Meanwhile game looks working on the background and I touch the game and game restarts, I look at the map I was working on and I see like before the crash my map was 153MB and after the crash my Map is like 141MB WTF!!!
I enter the game and there!!! All most of the recent things that I have done, is gone! Gone for good.
Such a setback, Ive worked so hard to complete the building and now all is half way down-lost standing right front of my eyes. This is crazy and it is frustrating
This happened to me like 4 times already. Its not a one time thing, so I need to report!
Some triggers that have preceded a crash:
a player connected by lan uses a chest
I change the difficulty to peaceful
clicking 'quit to title'
two lan players using a nether portal
when a lan player joins or exits
Looks like this is getting fixed 🙂

0.15 build 1 changelog:
Fixed a couple of bugs causing data to be lost or world corruption
Should be fixed in that version.

I think, this is the same issue as MCPE-9457, so a duplicate tag between these two threads might make sense.
This bug is NOT resolved.
We just lost the whole afternoon worth of building (relocating the fence surrounding the animals, crafting maps, and so on) in 0.15 build 1.
The game crashed, we looked back into it - nothing near to spawn has been saved. All is reverted to the start of the session.

I will add my confirmation and description to this bug. I have an iPhone 6s Plus running iOS 9.3.1 and MCPE 0.14.3
I haven't narrowed down what causes the crash, but consistently when the app does crash, all items placed on the map (builds/placed blocks) roll back to the last time I exited the game. So it appears that I have to pause and exit the game to the title screen in order to save build progress.
However, inventory is not rolled back. What is in my hands and armor worn at crash remains the same when reopening the app. The items in my chests appears to stay the same. BUT! I created a new chest and placed all my tools/weapons in it. After crash and restart, the new chest and everything it contained was gone! 😡😡😡
So it appears that the state of inventory in hand and in chests gets saved at different times than the map, causing the lack of synchronicity of progress after crash.
If the build progress was saved at the same time as inventory progress, at least when the game rolls back to last saved state, all the placed blocks and chests (plus items within new chests) would not be gone; only the effort would be lost.
I am not certain if the growth status of my crops rolled back or not, but I think all the animals I had lured into a new pen were still on the map (where the new pen used to be) after restart.
I also think I lost all items that were in my furnace once when the game crashed, and the raw materials and coal were lost.
Hope this helps 🙂
Thanks for working on this. It's a horrible bug that has left me with ZERO tools. (Note to self - when placing a new chest, exit the game before placing items in it)
Edited to add: This bug makes me more angry than a creeper from behind on a dungeon-dive.

Nothing is fixed! Game crashes on start to main iPad screen and makes you open up the game again and meanwhile you see the game looks like open on background but crashes again. Game could not upload the map surroundings and crashes. Maps are not playable again.
Note.
Yeah, sure related or unrelated squeeze all reports has crash word in it to this chapter has nothing to do with our problems on iOS so no one would pay attention. Way to go manage team⚠️

This happens to my Realms server often on 0.15.0. My daughter and I will be doing an action like breaking blocks, opening a door, walking when we'll get disconnected from server. For about 10-15 minutes, we'll continually get an Unable to connect to world. When we finally can load in, it'll be rolled back a few minutes. A few times, it'll spawn me inside a wall causing a suffocating death.
It is getting really annoying especially in our paid Realm service.

I'm running version 0.15 build 1 and I'm experiencing the same rollback as reported here. I've had these crashes happen while jumping over cows with a horse, having a creeper explode next to stone bricks while on foot, and a couple other times which details I forget. When I have more crashes I'll update here, but I've lost considerable time and effort because of it. It's true, the inventory saves upon or before exit, while the world (and chest contents) do not save. Occasionally this results in duplication of items, but most often it's a nuisance; reverting large amounts of work or erasing gear, fully explored level 4 maps or other such "expensive" items.
I know a crash dump might be useful in this situation, so how do I get one? In the old version I could view the report easily, but in this one it just crashes with no launcher left afterwards with no option for sending a crash report (which would be pretty useful). Please help! I'm losing interest and I don't want that to happen.
Thanks!
-Just had another crash after trying to quit game (in order to save work, ironically.) God I hope they fix this soon.

The error message for this is in the logcat for Android, all it shows now is "libEGL cache file failed CRC check"
More could be offered if the app would dump some debug info, at least in the beta builds. This error also seems to apear more often the newer the device and OS are, and it does not always cause a crash. The most common effect is lag and teleporting mobs. The loss of changes is the most damaging effect though, and it can sometimes leave you in the middle of a chunk of rock that you just spent forever mining out. The rollback only happens if a crash occurs.

How much CPU frequency and RAM amount?

Affects 0.15.3 Device:Sony Xperia Z3, Andorid version:6.0.1
I broke some redstone dust that were placed on blocks, the game crashed and when I opened the app back, the redstone dust I broke prior to the crash were still on the floor and I still had the redstone dust I broke prior to the crash. This was on single player

Of a mob crosses a chunk it vanishes should the crash happen at the same time. I actually notice that this happens a lot with the crash, as if it may be the cause.

Since the last update this crash has become more frequent.

Noticed an interesting tend with the crash. Almost everytime it happens, on return, hostile mobs have spawned on lowered slabs and/or upright stairs. Not sure of they're supposed to be able, but there appears to be a connection to there.

Recently discovered that if this bug occurs while on a pressure plate, the pressure plate stops responding. Also, if a mob crosses a chunk boundary it vanishes, even if it's on a lead.

And when it crashes while you're on a minecart, the cart almost always vanishes on restart.

I have found that this bug occasionally along with rollback causes some duplication of items. As an example, I built a small structure and also took 6 of 12 lily pads out of a chest and placed them on the water. The game crashed, structure was gone however the lily pads remained in the water and were placed back in the chest. Similar thing happened with a diamond pickaxe. Started with 1 diamond pick axe (efficiency 3 & fortune 3). Made a 2nd. Enchanted it with a silk touch enchanted book. Game crashed and undid the silk touch enchantment. The book was back in the chest it was originally kept in and the silk touch pick axe somehow became a duplicate of my original pickaxe with efficiency 3 & fortune 3. On another occasion I killed a sheep and after the game crashed I was left with a living sheep and the wool I obtained from killing it before the crash. (MCPE 0.16.0 using an LG G3 android version 5.0.2)

This problem happens for me. The game also crashes like this when you take certain actions (I'm not 100% sure which ones, but using spawn eggs with invalid Ids does this).

This problem applies to me too. Also, when this occurs, player movement is not reversed causing you to suffocate in walls when mining. A simple solution would be to reverse player movement too, as a temporary measure. Still very annoying when it happens.

Also confirmed on MCPE for iOS 9 on the iPad 2

(Linked to MCPE-17113)

The crash causes more rollback the higher up you build. Building near 128 always rolls back the changes.

This crash appears to be linked to the redstone tick updates now. Often redstone (including doors) starts to misbehave just before the crash. Doors opening on their own and redstone getting stuck or unresponsive, then crash and rollback. In 0.16 the link became very apparent for anything that uses doors, buttons, pressure plates, and levers.

The 0.17 beta is experiencing this crash more, and now it can be triggered by dropping items from the hotbar when using the classic UI setting. Unsure if the two are directly related or this is now two bugs causing the same effects.

I got too many crashes in the history where the builds don't save. Isn't there a way to make it save every minute?

Happens to me on the 0.17 beta build 3, on a Shield K1 tab.
I think that it involves the new background loading of chunks. I played for about 30min, and then the game crashed, all my of progress lost. My inventory wasn't lost nor xp, but all blocks and other items/containers progress set back. Player position was set back to last save.
I'm guessing that the changes were never saved, only held in ram. Then, when the game crashed, nothing was saved.

Happening to me too, on my ipod 5th gen with minecraft 0.16.2

Happening to me on my ipod 5th gen running IOS 10. Alo running the newest update 1.0

The last crash caused a chunk to become corrupted in my favorite world, and this in turn causes my entire tablet to lock up and freeze. The problem is that I have no idea of these are actually related because MCPE does not put out any debug information at all. Tks bug reporting would be much simpler for you if you at least enabled debug information for testers.
If my tablet gets ruined by this bug Mojang or Microsoft is replacing it.

They will replace nothing. No warranty for data corruption. Also even if the words and the app crash, they still have specific folders they are running in, it can't harm the outer file system

Can someone please add the newest version of minecraft to the list, also add ipod 5th generation to affected devices. Thanks

The crash is synched with the weather changes, specifically when it starts to rain. Though rejoining the world causes the check to happen again, meaning it doesn't always rain when it happen but it always happens at the time rain starts.

Also affects PE 1.0.3. Possibly chunk updates aren't being flushed to disk at a point, and when the memory is full from pending updates the game crashes. Very irritating, especially when I respawn in a tower or on a bridge that no longer exists in survival and plummet to my death on restart.
NOTES: Inventory seems unaffected (all items used from inventory are lost, also irritating), possibly a filesystem connection issue with leveldb only?

Sure it is, the most critical things never get fixed first 😉

@unknown, was that a confirmation or just a "probably LOL"? I can't really tell, and I'd like to know so I can update the affected versions. 😛 Is it still happening as of 1.0.4.11 and/or 1.0.5.13?

I am sorry. That was a 'definitely'

This happens maybe 15 times a day on my realm. Crash if often due to someone changing dimensions (to the overworld, nether, or the end). The realm is nearly unplayable. This is confirmed to still be a problem with 1.0.5. I don't know if this is related but there is also heavy lag spikes every 20 seconds or so.

This is also related to a similar issue effecting worlds in Realms that grow too large it seems. REALMS-333
Affects 1.1.0.55 according to MCPE-22315

This has never happened to me as a single user on iOS before and therefore new to me iOS in 1.1.0.55. The game rolls back with one solitary user in a brand new world with very few inventory items and I hadn't even walked very far. Had taken the chest items from two temples but when it came back I was back to just the first temple. So it is not game size or anyone else fiddling about and seems to be poor memory handling now on iOS.

I've had the same thing happen, with the added note that it has resulted in the duplication of items. (I reported it as a separate bug because of the duplication, which does not seem to have been mentioned here). It's an established world, though not a particularly big one, and the crashes/rollbacks often happen at very innocuous times – for example, I'll just be walking across an uncomplicated overworld area. A few have happened when I was accessing chests – more than when interacting with other objects, though that may be because chests are probably the objects you interact with the most.

It occurs fairly frequently on 1.1 / iOS, and the problem has got much worse than before. Prior to 1.1 the amount of rollbacks was of at most only a few minutes, and now it rollbacks several tens of minutes of progress, which means the game now autosaves far less frequently than before.

Add device iPad Air for MCPE 1.1
Terribly frustrating!

This is the issue I'm most frustrated with. I updated to 1.1.0 to try to resolve inventory deletions (no luck), and now MCPE is crashing my single player survivor world very frequently. There is no pattern as to when it will save progress or when it will rollback half an hour or more.
MCPE 1.1.0 on Samsung Galaxy GP.

This may be irrelevant but.. I suffered problems with crashes and no rollback - see above comment. I have also suffered from reduced rendering distance that everyone said was due to low resources. However, I cleared a lot of space, got rid of old minecraft games, did a hard reboot and I have not suffered since. I have had a few crashes and rolled back to exactly where I left it. I think this problem is to do with how this app uses temporary space and, if it hasn't got enough, will cause problems. Also may be irrelevant but every time I uses BBC iPlayer, although other apps may cause it as well, my reduced rendering returns. I suspect that whatever temp storage is being used it is not being tidied by some apps - including this one. Hard reboots will do a bit of housework on the system and I am not suffering the losses on crash rollbacks and I can now manage the reduced rendering so, at the moment, I am a lot happier but have not updated to 1.1 yet and don't think I will! iOS 10 on old iPad 3.

This happens to me too. Something that helps me every so often is not refreshing the game. Scroll every app out except Minecraft. This way, you don't even need an autosave!

I got an ipad pro and had this occur last night with over 100gb of storage available. MCPE 1.1.2 on iOS 10.3.2. The crash was sudden with no freeze (or discernable reason, I was working around my base so no chunk loading was occurring). I feel that I lost a couple of hours of work, although it's hard to know exactly. VERY frustrating.
One extenuating circumstance: I was using the slide-over split screen functionality to reference a photo. When I did it quickly, it would act like nothing happened. When Iingered on it, MCPE would display a menu and I had to resume game. (MCPE should still be active.). When the app crashed, it reverted to an autosave that was before the slide-over usage.
It should be noted that I've also had crashes with autosave failure when not using the slide over multitasking, so it could have just been a coincidence.

This has been happening a lot on our realm lately. Much more so since the 1.1 update started causing extreme lag and frequent realm crashes. Players that were clearing rooms underground suffocate in walls due to the blocks being where they should have already been cleared, animals disappear from pens, ghasts spawn in areas they should not be able to, players lose items from their inventory and chests. Usually the realm only "rolls" back by 10-15 minutes or less but sometimes it's been closer to an hour.

Like Sarah McCoy said above, my team encountered this a lot recently. It is simply as some action like changing myself into gamemode 1 would crash completely the Realm and we have to wait for 30 minutes to 1 hour for the Realm to auto recover. And sometimes it even roll back a few hours. Does Mojang really think Minecraft Bedrock costs that few of memory and processing power?

Im playing on xbone and the same thing has happened to me and it erased like 7 hours of progress because it never crashed it just started doing weird glitchy things like teleporting further down the tracks on our railway system or making a tunnel and when we return down the tunnel the roll back has already happened so we save and quit because things seem weird and were put back like 3 hours then it happened again the next day got on at 5 played til like midnight saved and quit came back to when my friends had signed on so we literally made no progress all the same items they had same spots they started that day i tried to make some progress back and after like hour and a half put up the layers of the house we lost save and quit and i had made it maybe five minutes progess from where i was when i started that session this is one of the worst bugs ive ever seen and i cant believe it has taken them this long to not even fix it
There is a related issue where progress is not being saved properly - for that issue please refer to ticket MCPE-25635

+1
Similar issue, although I'll be posting my exact issue shortly.

I'm getting this issue on Nintendo Switch, yesterday I mapped a previously unmapped area and returned to my house to add the map. I had a lot of trouble as I neared completion of the new map with chunks taking a long time to load and some failing to load at alI. There was also textures not loading on some sides of the blocks. A couple of times I experienced a sudden change of location. I then travelled back to my house and arrived by minecart, I went to place the map on my map wall then saved and closed the world. When I opened the world in the morning I was still in the minecart and the map was incomplete.
It it seems there is some kind of save/autosave issue which is causing a rollback, but not necessarily everything is affected.
More than a few times now I have been beset by block textures not loading on all sides causing an X-ray effect, chunks taking a long time to load, sometimes failing to load altogether causing black blocks on the map. I have to stop flying, swimming or moving at speed as chunks are not rending in front of me and I hit an invisible barrier. Almost invariably some kind of rollback will occur sometime following these issues. It leaves me thinking the save is corrupting and the system is lagging out as it tries to create a new save file while trying to load chunks. Is the lag disrupting autosave to point where the save is being corrupted ?
I'm also becoming convinced that the code does not handle exiting while autosave is running. I.e. Does exiting ensure that autosave has completed before closing the world?
Another possibly related issue is that many times now I have gone into an area I previously explored and suddenly jumped to a previous location in the area. Sometimes I may walking on land then suddenly I'm in a boat on the nearby ocean. Another time I may be swimming then jump to a boat, or boating and suddenly jump 100 or so blocks. Another time I flew across a river, and when I landed in the bank I jumped to a minecart in a nearby tunnel. I seem to have collected a number of boats and mine carts due to this. The jumps always seem to be to where I was having a lot of trouble with chunks not loading and X-ray due to missing textures.

Been having this bug happen on my realm recently, making us lose hours of work. Seems to be randomly triggered when we use nether portals. Hope it gets fixed soon because we need to use the nether for transportation, and cant afford having the realm roll back a couple hours every time!

I have a similar problem with a Realm I am the owner of. I get tons of complaints. My realm has a huge file size, and the game also thinks I dont have storage space to download the world. Not only this but the game only backs up every hour or so so often when a roleback happens it destroys an hour of time. This issue really needs to be adressed as this is a huge waste of my time and effort.

This is exactly what happens to me.

This has been happening to me and everyone else in our realm since Sunday. Haven’t made an ounce of progress and have played for hours! The game is basically unplayable for anyone on bedrock atm...

It’s pathetic that I have to pay a monthly fee for realms and I constantly deal with it crashing and losing 20-30 min of progress every time. Fix this bug or give me my money back.

We have not had issues with this in the recent past. Just started back up in 1.14.0. Once last night and once today. 20-40 minute save rollback and it locks you out of the realm for a solid 15 minutes when it crashes.

This issue is still effecting server owners like myself, and plenty others as seen in both the official Minecraft Discord, and via Reddit posts and whatnot. A horrid bug that has made the game unplayable and is killing servers left right and centre. Users no longer want to play, because it fresh wipes every so often.

Seems to be apparent with BDS 1.14.60.5.

Crashing constantly! Fix or my money back please.

I can't even play because it deletes any changes i make to the realm.
I need a refund

Still exists and even more prominent 1.16 bedrock mobile

Yep. This happens all the time with me and my friend between iOS and Switch. We don't play on realms, we do online play. But it is SO annoying.

This has happened on my real 4 times today alone. we thought it was a fluke the first time but we're losing 20 minutes of progress at a time

I can confirm its still in 1.16.20 and it literally just happened to my realm 😞. Thought this was meant to be fixed in 1.16 but apparently not

This issue is on switch too, latest update 1.16.40...

I think this report was forget... When we have a fix for this?

For help the people who are working on a fix for this issue, I don’t know for other people, but for me, on my 2 realms, this issue only occur when we hit 4 players or more.

This issue happened to me 4 times yesterday, my realm is basically unplayable like this. I opened an issue about this before I saw your post and a mod said it was "invalid" and linked me here. Sounds like they might be dismissing the problem.

This is happening fairly consistently on my Realm. The trigger for me is a specific set of double chests. They only render as a single chest until you hover over them revealing the hitbox of the rest of the chest. Trying to open them resets the realm to the last autosave. Usually I lose 20-30 minutes of gameplay. I would say this happened no less than 10 times in the last 5 days. It is getting difficult to be willing to play if my work is consistently undone.

Thé same happens for me but only when I activate my gold farm

Update: As stated in my previous comment this is being triggered by a wall of double chests. They render incorrectly and crash the realm when accessed. The realm then resets to the last save. This effectively loses the last 30 or so minutes of gameplay. The new information is that the double chests are positioned over a chunk border. Is it possible that the chucks are being unloaded at different times causing the issue?

Still happening on my bedrock realm

Double chests going half-invisible is being tracked at MCPE-106030.
This ticket is tracking the general problem that the server is crashing without saving, causing a rollback.

Been having this issue repeatedly on my Bedrock Minecraft world, connecting with various devices. Multiple players are booted at the same time, and the server rolls back to the most recent Backup, rather than loading the present time. Typically this loses around 10 minutes play, but can be more like half an hour. It happened a half dozen times yesterday and today.
At first we wondered if it was a processing issue causing the game to crash, but we switched off all automated machines, hoppers etc, and culled 50% of all our farm animals to reduce the active burden on the server. It still crashed intermittently, even when we were a distance away in other biomes, where there is very little activity.
Something is definitely causing a critical failure on the Realm. It's currently only playable in the loosest sense; I've cut the same tree down about seven times now, and it's getting waring. My six year old son stopped playing in frustration, saying he now hated Minecraft, after losing a cottage he'd spent half an hour building. Very annoying bug. Any help would be appreciated.

I think this is happening to me on my PS4 - still realms.
I've had the double chest issue on this same world, and for some reason it fixed itself.
A few months later, I'm building an item sorter and this happens. I thought that it's the double chest thing, and so I deleted the chests, hoppers, and all redstone and used the fancy leaves trick to map out the chunk. Right after I mapped out the chunk, I crashed.
I reloaded, went to this area, and started writing this post, and as I finished this last paragraph, the realm crashed. I didn't access any chests (the load respawned what I had builtb of the item sorter), I just sat on the ground while typing.
So, now I'm going to reload, break those redstone devices and chests, and wait several minutes.
Another crash.
My main village is nearby... Never had problems until trying this build. I actually started building this "library" several days before the crash, but only started the chests/hoppers/redstone yesterday - when the first crash started.

I'm going to download my oldest save just in case. Thank you, ambient, for bringing my attention to the fact that the entire save could be corrupted.

Still a big issue. Every time I enter Nether, I do not stay for long since I never know if it will crash and roll back when I return from it. Better to stay there for shorter periods, but more frequent instead. Every time I return and it works... its like winning a lottery.

Please note that this ticket is specific to the issue of the world rolling back when there is a crash.
Current issues with realms frequently crashing / disconnecting are tracked in REALMS-6812.

This is happening to my realm frequently. I have 3 players: 2 PC, 1 XBOX player, and the realm stops responded. (Cant place blocks or open chests)I can exit but can not log back in. When I try to close the realm it errors on closing, it takes 20 -30 mins before it finally closes and restarts. Sadly it reverts to a previous save nearly an hour before we were on. Meaning we lose an entire hour of play randomly... Makes our efforts lost and the game miserable to play.
Any updates on the timeline for a fix for this?

This also happened to me, I am on a realm with some friends and what seems at random times the server would lag and then disconnect everyone online. The server would roll back but some entities go missing. Such as one instance when I died and my friend got all my stuff but then the server disconnected and rolled back. When we all logged back on my diamond chestplate was gone. Then a more important instance is when the server disconnected everybody and when we logged on we saw that 2 of our villager have gone missing.

Realms disconnects often and world is rollback, if this can't be fixed then increase autosave/backup frequency, or give an option to do so.
I keep loosing a lot of gametime due to this.
Currently happening on 1.17.10

I own a Realm and almost every night I have to use a backup because of corrupted chunks.

the realms keep crashing like 4 times day what is going on

This has recently started happening on my realm within the last couple days. It started after the recent bedrock update. We get kicked a few times a day and then some things get lost. One of my realm mates lost a whole shulker box of stuff that was supposedly in her ender chest. She was placing it in there when the game crashed.

This is happening in 1.19.30, and is far more frequent and impactful than previously. In previous versions, it was happening from time to time where a mined block wouldn't get mined and instead would reappear. The resolution would be to save and exit, then upon re-entering, the issue would be gone for several hours or more.
However, on Sept 29, around 10p PT, four players in our Realm experienced an extreme version of this. We had been playing for over an hour when this glitch occurred. That ENTIRE hour of play was lost for all players in our Realm. This caused a lot of grief among the players, all of whom rage quit, and two of whom suggested they might stop playing altogether.
This is a more serious version of this issue, and I think requires more detailed review. It's also worth noting that the frequency of this issue in all forms has been far higher than in previous versions. This suggests a more fundamental problem regarding this issue in 1.19.30. We are hoping for a quick update to resolve both this issue and the slow redraw issue noted in another bug report.

My last realm started having disconnect issues around the 29th of Oct 22. All my realm players were constantly getting disconnected for a week. We figured maybe having experimental features unlocked and having a few add-on packs might have broke the realm. So we decided to create a brand new realm. I had another player start building some buildings and then he was "disconnected from the server". The realm was on survival mode but with cheats enabled, with zero resource packs or behavior packs added. We are still having disconnect issues to this day, but we have tried to impliment a 1 hour save and quit method. But, there have been moments when everyone had logged back on after 2 mins, that we would get disconnected and lose 10 minutes of time lost. Its almost like the realm is not saving when its supposed to.

Currently, the realm loads and plays, but every time the realm performs a backup, it kicks everyone and reverts to a specific point. We can restore the back up and play more, it then when it performs another back up, it will revert again to the original point. I have even replaced the world, and it reverts back to the original point in the prior world.
EDIT 8/23/24: Doesn't seem to be happening anymore
