Mojang are aware of the issue (see this comment) and are working on it.
Please limit comments to information about conditions that seem to result in a disconnect. Comments that do not add information may be removed.
From some of the duplicate reports, one or more of the following actions consistently produces the disconnect/rollback for some realms:
Specific player logging on
More than one player logging on where either one can play fine separately
Having large number of villagers in an area, if approached or player relogs there
When the realm does its auto-save
Traveling between dimensions
Original Description
We started playing on our current realm a couple of days ago and everything was working without any hiccups. Today however the realm suddenly starts to perform resets and to load the world, it falls back on slightly older back-ups. At first it was a one time thing, but about 15 minutes later it reset itself three consecutive times. We decided to leave the realm alone for the night and see how it performs tomorrow.
We'd like to know what could be the cause of the sudden resets.
UPDATE 15/01/2021 : Logged on this morning and so far it seems okay. Will keep you posted through the coming few days
UPDATE 17/01/2021: Realm still hasn't performed a reset since 14/01/2021. I'll keep updating 'till the 21st of january
Update 21/01/2021: So far still no problems found since the first ones. Will update again only when Reams start disconnecting everyone again.
Edit: Summary was changed to make it more likely to be found in searching.

Same thing happening to me started a few days ago.
EDIT - This is still happening on our realm. For us anyways if there is only one player on the realm everything works fine and there is now crashing and we have logged probably 10-20 hours with various players playing alone. But as soon as another player loads onto the realm it crashes instantly and reverts to the last backup, so for us it seems like the issue is it realms cant handle more than one person at present time.

i and J.J. are friend it is happening in one realm network i found out
so all the realms are sort of connected i have found out and there is a bug with that

same thing happening on a realm i am a member of.
it's making the game unplayable!

Happening for us too

Having same issue for 2 days now. Come on get it sorted. What’s the point of paying for a realm where monthly there is some issue happening stopping us from enjoying the game !

Having same issues with realm crashing on xbox one, pc and android phone for the last few days. Fix it please

We had the same problem yesterday eavening and also just a few minutes ago. The Server shuts down and a few minutes later we can join again. But it resets an earlier backup.
So we lost about 25 Minutes Crafting -Time, what was a lot.

Does anybody know, if there is a posibility to "push" the save in Real, can i do it manuelly?
Thx, martin

Martin, I don't think you can. The server itself determines when to save. Realms run in the cloud, and if everyone were manually saving to get around the bug, it would overload the servers and increase the scale of the bug.
Also, I don't think it would help. The fact that the game disconnects and reverts back to older backups, means that saving is not possible. Everytime auto-save fails, it crashes the realm, which is then rebooted with the last backup.
As a temporary solution, you can download the world and run it on your device or pc. Not ideal, but better then losing hours of playtime because of this bug.

This has been happening on a Friend's realm by seemingly no particular reasons, last 3 resets I was just placing dirt and it suddenly reset.
Resets seems to vary in time but only happen when something needs to be saved, if I stay iddle nothing happens.

Hey Arthur and Francisco,
thanks for your answers!! Today we could play over an hour an everything was finde. I hope, it stays like this.
You can imange, how frustratet my 5- and 8- year old sons were, when the game-loss happend... (and not to forget how frustrated the dad was 😉)
The local-solution wouldnt work well, beacuse we played with friend. (VPN is a lot more diffcult...)
When one player leaves the game, he has to click on "save and exit" ( a least in german "Speichern und Beenden").
Does that mean, that the server saves, when a player lefts? I coul not confirm this, by the saving times in the backups.
cheers/ martin

My other half and I are currently having this issue with ours we thought it resolved itself and then we lost half an hour of progress

We are still facing problems. Every 15 minutes or so Realms crashes down without saving any progress. In addition, we are constantly losing creatures and villagers every time.

Day 3 and still experiencing the same issue.
How long are we expected to wait for this to be fixed??
Pointless paying for a realm that is unusable

Currently happening on my PS4 Realms Plus world. Niece and nephew were having issues of disconnecting and losing progress last night, then I (Admin) tried today to see if it was their internet connection, and the same thing happened.
Addition: Tried again today (20 or so hours later). It wasn't even 5 minutes before I couldn't interact with a chest, then was disconnected.
Edit 1/20: Still a persistent problem. Tried to play and save every ten minutes, then gradually longer, and seemed like it was working. When I would save&quit, it would load from the spot that it saved. It seemed fixed! Then after over an hour it disconnected and all those saves were gone.
@Support - could you at LEAST give an update on how things are moving along and make us feel heard? I'm sure that many of us understand that technical difficulties happen, but it IS a service we are all paying for and a little good customer service can go a long way if you would just comment and let everyone know what's going on and that you're actively working on it.

Same is happening to me. Bedrock Edition on Realms. It started yesterday afternoon, happened once then was ok for a couple of hours. Went back on later that night and every 20-30 minutes we would get disconnected and lose progress. Very frustrating. I stayed on and it happened 3 more times before I gave up.
Edit So my partner was playing minecraft this morning on my realm for about 2-3hours with no issue. I log in and 25 mins later disconnected and lost progress. So I think the issue is me. I own the realm we play on.
I uninstalled Minecraft and reinstalled it. ⚠️ WARNING⚠️ if you do this back up your worlds! I lost all my saved worlds! I am a bit annoyed at that, I dont understand why the worlds are deleted. Anyway I logged back in and disconnected again, all progress lost. Uninstalling and reinstalling did not work.

I am having the same problem

So what if anything are you doing to fix this issue?

I have periodically checked in on our realm and each time, within 30 seconds, I am disconnected. This has been happening for multiple days now.
Why doesn't it look like this issue is being investigated further?
Is there a way to speak to someone and escalating this issue?? It seems to be happening to a lot of people and I'm sure none of them, including myself, are happy about paying for a service which they can not used.

I am still having issues,is anything being done to look into this?

Same issue here. Hoping this is resolved.
Problem persists on iPad, XBOX One, and all realm members.
Update 20 Jan. We have been having this issue for almost a week now with no update or resolution timeframe. If my family didn't already have many hours of work in our realm I would cancel the subscription. This will definitely put a hamper on purchasing any more products and services from Mojang in the future. It would change everything if all our problems were just officially acknowledged and we were all validated.

I uploaded a video clearly showing what is going on with our Realms Plus.
Just as we hop onto the Realm or after a few minutes of playing it just cuts us off and resets the save. Lost a few hours of game, this is getting really annoying and considering what we pay for this kind of service it should be fixed asap.

Hey guys, I have the same problem and I noticed in the video REALMS-6812.mp4 that there are 2 realms. my trial month ended yesterday and i wanted to extend it, but the playstation store has opened a second realms and i can use both, but with the error that after an irregular time the server was disconnected and the progress was not saved. could this be the problem?

Same with us- totally unplayable. Weirdly had a similar issue to Benjamin FE where when my trial month ended a 2nd realm was added - although i was charged for this privilege. spent ages on the chat trying to get a refund for unwanted 2nd realm. got the refund, although the 2nd realm still appears as an option on the login screen. the first worked fine for a week before it started disconnecting and not saving. incredibly frustrating.
persistent - now d/c within a few mins every time

Been having the same issue.
Realm disconnects after anything from a few minutes to 25 or so.
Seems to last longer if I immediately use the last backup right when I start, but still disconnects eventually.
Have checked my ethernet cables, ports, router settings, internet speeds, everything.
Have uninstalled and reinstalled the game.

@J.J.: how did you solve the problem? did you have a trial subscription beforehand? @ support: when does something happen? the game cannot be used like this and my friends are very angry

@Benjanin Fe: I didn't really do anything, other than leaving the realm alone for around 4 hours I think? So far so good, but I'm still kinda suspicious.
@Support: Could you give us a heads up when you get the time to deal with this matter?

I have an exactly the same issue.
First it was just one time thing, but now I can access to our world, but in a few minutes, we will be kicked out from realm.

It's been 4 days now and nothing has changed. It still keeps disconnecting the server within 10 min and resorts back to a previous save. Haven't heard an update since I landed in this issue thread. Is anything being done about this? Kind of irritating...

I have been having this problem for three days straight here. Using Nintendo Switch client at v1.6.201.
I have noticed that is depends where in the world I am whether or not it will glitch. For me if I spend any time at my main village it will crash pretty reliably in around 10 minutes (30 at the outside). But if I travel far away I can play for over an hour with no problem. Tried that twice to verify. When returning to my village it again crashes within a short period of time and when the realm comes back up it has lost time.
I can download the world from the realm and play it locally on the Switch with no problems. I would try to replace the realm's copy with the locally played one, but upload from the Switch is not working.

@christopher: I bought the windows version especially. you can see the download, but not the upload. if the whole 3 hours worked, the backup is there, just doesn't help. crashed on android, windows, ps4 and ps5. edit: at switch the same, a 12h backup far from the crashed save crasht too 😞
@JJ: thx

day 3 of same issue and I can't stay in the realm for longer than 30s now. I saw someone suggest that the issue might be linked to being in the main area however I can't leave my town quick enough.
@support - Any idea on an update for this?

I have been having this issue for over a week, I have not been able to play for more than 20 min, and the game totally resets to where it was when I started playing.
@support - Will there be any refund for the weeks we aren't able to use Realms?

I was able to fix this issue (at least so far) by rolling the Realm back to a backup that was ~1 hour older than when the issue first started occurring.

@Justin I tried this with 1 hour-1 day and still disconnected me.
This is quite shocking that support has still not got back to is. Have they even seen our messages?

@Thomas, they have seen them enough to redirect a bunch of other tickets to this one, so they've certainly noticed the issue, but I really wish they would give us an update.
I'll update if my "fix" stops working for me. I was able to play the realm for ~1 hour last night with the backup. We'll see if it holds.

Same problem that everyone... I play on Realm with PS4 with the 1.16.201 version. Hope this Will be solved soon.

Having the same issue, I am curious if there are any similarities... for me at least, I get kicked within 30 seconds. I am also not able to interact with any items ( I. E. Crafting table, furnace, animals...). The time is also always night time, even when I try and log in for around 10 minutes, the time never changes. I’m thinking perhaps the world is duplicated, or is too big? I say this because one, my world is around 780 MB (not sure if that’s huge), and because when my friends log on, they seem to be fine, until I log on too, which then crashes the game. If anybody is able to identify common aspects of our issue; maybe the MODs or authority can find a solution.

@Andrew, for me it is rarely as short as 30 seconds, and it was generally from a few to tens of minutes before the "reset" would happen. It always reset to the exact same point regardless of how long it took to occur though. Also, prior to the reset, it was only the last several seconds before a disconnect before I wasn't able to interact. Before that point I could make changes, they would just get wiped out once the disconnect occurred. My world is 97 MB.
My realm still seems to be behaving normally since I reverted to the backup though. I have roughly a few hours of playtime into it now and I haven't had a reset (and ~16 hours of elapsed time).

Exactly the same for me. My family have a realm, one of which isn't in the house or on the same WiFi. Sigfwremt de ices but same happens to us all. 4 days now. So frustrated with it, paying for something that isn't working and doesn't seem to be resolved.

Justin, I (at the beginnings of the resets) was able to play for about 15 mins - 1 hour. Then about 36 hours ago, it got much worse. I walked into my house, and then it just crashed for good. I have not been able to interact with anything since and it would last 30 seconds before the reset if I was lucky. Many times it is around 5-15 seconds. I just hope yours doesn’t evolve to that. I agree that there should be a refund though, if I am not able to use a service due to a technical issue that has nothing to do with my end, then there should be a refund in some way.

I see. My issue only started about 24 hours ago, and it has been about 18 hours since I reverted to the backup, so the issue only "aged" about 6 hours in my case.

My friend and I were using a bedrock server first to play together but BDS-11039 / BDS-10666 kicked in. Hoping realms will not have the same issue I've uploaded our world and started playing. I believe the very same issue haunts us on realm as well, after logging in (being in the middle of a village) the realm crashes and rolls back.
I've downloaded the world, and will try the workaround (which made bedrock server stable again) on realm too: removing all beds in the village(s) we're in currently. Locally the world doesn't make the app crash, so it is possible to do it. Once it's done and I've uploaded the world again, I'll let you know the results. If it will not disconnect us any more (as it does now always) then it must be the same bug as BDS-11039 / BDS-10666 tracks. Will see (tomorrow).

This has been happening for nearly a week for my group. We log in from completely different places, so clearly not an internet problem, but a realm problem.
Things seemed to be running okay yesterday for several hours and then bang, disconnected and at least 30 minutes work was lost by each person online. It has crashed consistently since then.
We've lost hours of time, which is super frustrating when you're trying to build an adventure world for others to play in. It's hard to keep builders engaged when their work gets trashed multiple times.
I've already lost two members who essentially said "let us know when it's fixed" but you know gamers, who knows if they'll get obsessed elsewhere in the meantime and not come back.
Any sense at all what the problem is and when it will be fixed?

Still an issue for us tonight / today. Was somewhat better yesterday afternoon, and we were hopeful they had fixed it. However today we are unable to stay logged into Realms for longer than 20 seconds. We tried from both of our Nintendo Switch's and an iPad. 100% this is a Realms issue, as there is no problem with the game when we download it to a device and play locally.

I managed 10 minutes today before being disconnected. Come on @support get this fixed already!
Whats the point in paying for Realms Plus if we cant play it!

We have the same problems, after ~15 minutes we are kicked out the realm and no progress is saved. It's the 3rd day now, it's very annoying, please fix it.
As previous comment said, what's the point of paying when the quality of realms is so poor 😞
We are playing on win10 and Xbox One

Still happening... After 10 minutes this time... It's unplayable. @support fix It please

Seriously.. Is anybody looking into this fault?
Had this issue since the 14th January and despite multiple attempts to initiate contact through email, twitter etc. I am directed back to this forum and expected to watch and wait.
For myself and the other players on our realm we are unable to stay connected for longer than 15seconds.
To say I am frustrated is an understatement. Paying for a service which I am clearly not receiving.
I am disappointed that despite the amount of messages from fellow MC users, all with the same issue, that no one has responded to the many questions put to you as moderators of this forum.

this has been an issue for a week now, looking at functional bedrock dedicated servers is like looking over the berlin wall to the west.

I removed all beds around us locally, and then uploaded the world to realm. I was there for two mc days without disconnects. I'd say this is the workaround, but will play on realm more to be sure.
So it seems it's the same bug what I mentioned here: https://bugs.mojang.com/browse/REALMS-6812?focusedCommentId=899573&page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel#comment-899573

Same exact problem, but mine hasn't stopped doing it in the last three days. Lost my mending 1 librarian. RIP Barry.

I just wanted to update that, in my case, reverting to a backup prior to the onset of the bug has continued to work for my realm. It has been nearly 2 days and probably about 6 hours of played time since reverting to the backup and the problem hasn't resurfaced yet.
In case it matters, my process for reverting to the backup was:
1) Download the backup from the realm server.
2) Load it locally (W10) and log into it.
3) Save & Quit.
4) Load it again, but select Play on Realm for the locally saved world.
So far this has worked for me. Prior to this, I was experiencing the same problem as everyone else describes. It persisted for about 6 hours with a crash and revert to the same point every several minutes. Once I did the steps above, the problem ceased.

Justin - my family tried that on Sunday and it was playable for all of Monday then by Tuesday it was back to the same old disconnects every 20 seconds - 3 minutes. Unfortunately it doesn't seem to be a long term workable solution.

Same problem here. I think I’m gonna discontinue my realms subscription until it’s fixed, because the game is totally unplayable as it is.

This happened earlier today.

Yesterday I did what @unknown wrote in his comment above and it worked, I didn't have problems for ~2hr and the progress was saved. Today the saved game is still on the relams. But this is a workaround not a fix from the devs.

so come on Support Team, fix this Error! I had to produce Videos for my Youtube Channel!

4 days with the problem... I've tried to download on my local the world before the problem, save & exit, and load again on Realm but an hour later the problem still happening... @support are you working on It???

Having the same problems on xbox, relems opens just fine, works for a couple of minutes then discounts from the server and reverts back to an old save, impossible to build or farm anything as any work done gets lost, very frustrating

I am having the same issue. Can't play for for than 5 mins with getting disconnected and losing any progress. The game is not playable. I have tried reinstalling the game but this does not work. Resetting the world to previous save point works for a bit but the issue still resurfaces.

Same issue for last 3 days, please fix asap

Just after logging in, I am disconnected from the server and spawned back to a previously saved point in the game. I have not been able to make any progress in a week.
I do not understand why no one has been assigned to work on this problem! This is more than a bug, it is a major malfunction. Is there a better way to report that the service is down?

Same issue here. Crazy that a paid service in a game that I already paid for is completely broken and dysfunctional.

I have tried some of the tips in the comments and none have worked. Removing beds, downloading the world, playing locally and saving before uploading...Still not working. Disconnected within a few minutes.
This in now beyond a joke. Support not responding to this ticket is unbelievable. I have even been on twitter and got no reply either. It has been almost a week since I have been unable to play on Realms.

Same issue happening for the last 2 days on a realm that im participating in

Exact same symptoms here over the approximate timeframe on a PS4. I agree with the sentiment that we shouldn't be paying for a service that does not work. Has anyone suspended their Realms account yet? Seriously considering it.

Our family is having the same issue. Hopefully, we get an update soon.

This is a real bummer, it also seems to be making my villagers disappear when coming back and I'm getting really annoyed

What a ridiculous situation. We as users pay good money for a service that has been broken for a week now. I wouldn’t be so bad if there was some sort of update to show that the issue is recognised and being worked on to find a resolve but leave us subscribers without any updates is abysmal. The service is always having one issue or another.
come on Mojang show us that your customers matter!!

Been having this exact same issue starting around 3 days ago. Initially, it fixed itself, however now it has only gotten worse.

Totally have this same problem. It suddenly disconnects and when i log back in I am in a place i haven't been to in a super long time. How is this issue not being reconized when so many users have the exact problem. please please just let us know you are working on it. I love this game.

I have been having this exact same issue and it is really sad because i really care about my realms and me and my friends are not able to play together because of this bug. Im annoyed mojang has not resolved or at least acknowledged this issue yet.

How is this STILL unassigned?
Day 7: still disconnected every five to ten minutes. Logging out to "save" occasionally has no effect on lost work. Whatever causes the disconnection is linked to reverting to previous saves.
Our world is orphaned. Our players are debating what other games we switch too. Realm will be cancelled before renewal time if this is still down.
What an unfortunate way to let things die Mojang. You haven't even acknowledged the problem. RIP

I found a provider that lets you make your own bedrock server and it' cheaper than official but unfortunately xbox one players can't join custom servers, nice move Mojang :/

We've been running into the same issue consistently for the past couple days. It's really frustrating. I'll get 15-20 minutes into playing and it'll disconnect me and I lose all of my progress. It happened to me 3 times yesterday. I eventually gave up.
We'll just be playing in the realm like normal and out of nowhere we get the "Disconnected from Server" message.
I've tried archiving and redownloading, but it hasn't helped. This is on the Nintendo Switch.

This issue has been prevalent on my Realm for nearly 3 weeks now. We play the game with friends weekly on Sundays, and have ran into the issue multiple times during the past two Sundays, as well as running into it again last night.
The issue appears to be happening more often when more than one player is on the realm at a time, which seemingly defeats the purpose of having a realm. As stated previously, the realm disconnects all players simultaneously, and often reverts to the same save that was present approximately 20-30 minutes prior. It has become virtually impossible to make progress when multiple players are on the realm.

Having the same issue on my buddy's realm. every 10 min or so server disconnects everyone and all progress made during that time is lost.

I've been having the same issue for about 7 days now myself.
after checking this post everyday since and getting fed up with getting no response from Mojang I had a play around to see if i could find a work around.
After joining the realm, like most others I was disconnected after around 30secs. Restoring the world to a previous save didn't work, as did any other suggestions.
However, after copying the realm save and playing it locally for a day or 2 (realm crashed in the middle of mass breeding villagers) I've just replaced the realm with the updated 'Copy' and that appears to have fixed the issue. Currently been AFK on the realm for about an hour without being disconnected. Also able to use crafting tables, place blocks, trade villagers etc etc.
Is anyone else able to do the same to see if this works for them also? (I'm on an XBOX 1 S, not series S/X)
i'll also keep updating should any more issues come up

It's been over a week! The realm loads quickly but only stays open for about a minute before I'm disconnected from the server and sent back to the last save.Is there another way to report this problem as it is still unassigned to service? Do we know if Mojang is aware of the problem?

Could this be related to villager population? A commenter mentions villager breeding, above. Our realm started crashing after we had built up a fairly large village. When it stopped, all but 2 villagers had vanished. Now I have built up the population again and it has started crashing again. Interestingly, it seems to happen when a realm member enters the village - e.g. I can go for days outside the village but as soon as someone nears it, all members of the realm (regardless of their location) are booted out to a reverted save. I have tested it this afternoon, and as long as none of us enter the village, we are not booted out. Interestingly all was fine yesterday. This makes me believe that something changed - and it could be the village population going over a certain number.

Here's a new one: Logged on to check the status. Built some stuff. Saved. Closed program. Open program... all the things I'd built were still there.
Good right?
Nope. Played another twenty minutes. Disconnected. Everything from the LAST HOUR gone.
So even if you save. Even if everything is still there. You can go back and have it crash and remove everything from the last hour.
Yippee.

Got a response from twitter, just saying this is a known issue and they are working on a fix to get out ASAP. Twitter is @mojangsupport
At least they have finally acknowledged it!

Good news!

feel like shit
it's been 8 coming into 9 days

Ok so after 4 days I have got my realm working. So far 4 hours of game play and still fine.
I downloaded a backup of my realm as close to the original disconnection, loaded it as a offline world, sat on it for about an hour, saved and exited the game.
Then I went into the edit of the offline world and selected "play on realm" I chose the option to overwrite my disconnecting realm, waited for it to upload and load and so far all is good!.
I hope this works for others as well!

Yeah this has been happening to my realm for about a week now (Jan 17-19). It went on for about 3 days before I got sick of it and tried to do something on Jan 19th. I downloaded the latest save of the realm to my device took the world off of the realm and pasted the save I had downloaded earlier. This had seemed to fix it for about 3 days until about 2 hours ago. I went a head and tried to do what I did before and it seemed to work for about 30 minutes before it kicked me again. I went ahead and joined the realm again to see if it would kick me again and sure enough after about 30 min it had kicked me again. This has been happening to all of the members of my realm and we are all super bummed about it. I really hopped this is resolved soon especially because I'm still paying for it even though I cant use it if that makes sense.

This has been getting progressively worse over the past few days, was crashing after 30 minutes, currently being kicked off the realm within 5minutes of joining. We've tried restoring backups and the issue persists. The game is literally unplayable.
Edit:
Now crashing within 1 min after trying an older backup

This issue is also happening on ticket REALMS-6945

Everyone in my family ( 4 players total) is getting disconnected from our realm world - whether or not anyone is on at the same time or they are on by themselves. The issue started about a week ago and we are getting tossed out progressively faster as time goes on. We are not able to play at all now. It resets back to the same time each time for each of us. We all play on different laptops. We do have a village but most of the villagers are gone now. We do not have any redstone in this realm.
Also, we have tried to save the world and reload it back onto realms - it didn't make any difference to the issue. Our internet connection is working fine. Anything else we can try?

So does anyone have a lasting fix for us non-technical people or is "play offline a bit, upload that, and pray" more or less the only advice until Mojang patches this up?

we had the mistake for the first time on saturday January 16th. 8 p.m. CEST, at the end I took a memory status from Friday 11:30 p.m. and reduced the beds and Villiager in my village and the village of my brother. could play for 2 days now

Has been happening to me and my friends for about a week now. Join the realm and get disconnected 20 minutes later with no progress saving. Kinda ridiculous that it makes the game unplayable yet Mojang hardly has acknowledged the issue and has given no update on when to expect a fix. I’ll be expecting a refund for my realm if this isn’t fixed soon. FIX YOUR GAME

Members whose last save was in the main village, the largest village with most all the redstone builds, can login BUT are disconnected from server within seconds. One member who is far outside the village can play and save progress. But if she comes near the main village she is disconnected from server. She is also disconnected from server if any other member tries to login.

Yeah, same issue with proximity to villages/villagers here. Since banishing myself from my village I have been playing for a day now with no issues but once I get proximity to village it disconnects.

Same issue here can play the realm for a few minutes, then I get disconnected with no progress saved. Its been this way for 2 days now.

its been at least two weeks for us with no help in sight sadly. we are essentially living in groundhogs day now

My friends' realm that I play on has begun doing this for about 2 weeks now, you can only play for a few minutes before getting kicked and rolled back. I have seen no updates from Mojang as to if / when this issue will be fixed. The only thing I can find is numerous people saying the same issue is happening to them, and they just mark it as duplicate and resolved without actually saying if they are actually fixing the problem. I am curious to how a paid service can have this kind of ignorance showed towards it, especially on such a good game. It is disappointing.

Ours was working fine up until yesterday afternoon. Hasn't worked since.

I have the same problem, but it bothers me that I have only been given automatic response in my report, I pay for a service, and your obligation is to give it to 100 or if there are problems attending with priority. anyone know how to solve it?

WORK AROUND / TEMPORARY FIX
Download the Realm to your device (Xbox, switch etc)
Play for 15 - 30 mins,
Save and exit
Upload world back to realm,
Play on realm for 1m-2min
save and exit realm.
Did this and it's been working as normal since.

@Gavin I have tried this and it never worked for me 😭

BDS-10666 points to an issue with the villager POI function. Are players near villages around the time a crash occurs?
Place enough/excess beds for the villagers to access. Does crashing still occur regularly?

Tried the download and upload didn't work in fact the upload was not the saved version. So its obviously a saving issue on the realm. As far as the bed we have plenty of extras. My guess no disk space on the server or bad hard drive

I pay $8 a month for a server that can't even decently load previously loaded chunks with 2 players on, takes literal minutes to join, and that deletes my progress for no reason! Step up your game, Microsoft.

Must be a villager issue like stated above. I was able to download and upload and the realm started working. The only problem was my fletchers were gone and the 3 armorers I just finished leveling up this past weekend are at level 1. I also lost a few librarians. Our realm is working again if you want to call it that or maybe I should say I'm not getting disconnected.

We have downloaded our world and when we play locally the villagers have started to create more villagers without control (see below)
[media]. We Will see if there is any time when the villagers stop creating new ones, and then we Will try to upload the world and see if the problem is solved.
I Will let you know the result but I think It's sure the problem is with the villagers
Edit 26/01: after doing what I explain above, we have no problems during 4 hours playing. It seems the problem is the creation of new villagers. It's not a solution but at least It makes MC more playable

Issue began about 1 week ago. Realm is not saving current state of game. Disconnect possibly happens when saving us in progress. Around every 15 minutes. Unplayable in this state. Considering canceling subscription.

Considering some people have been reporting this issue for weeks now , the fact that there hasn't been a single professional response to this is more than a little alarming. I know $10 a month is a drop in the ocean, but even recognition that you guys are working on this would be nice.

This issue has been going on for our realm since approximately 1/12/21 with only a few evenings where people have been able to play and not lose their progress. I submitted a help request and was directed here.

Same issue as everyone here. All players in ou r family are disconnected from the realm every 10 minutes or so. Disconnection seems to occur mostly when players are in or next to the "main" village, not in unpopulated areas of the realm.
This has been going on for over 10 days and it is becoming a real frustration. It is unbelievable that Mojang does not at least formally acknowledge the issue. There must be 10's of thousands of very disappointed paying customers.

Finally got a response from Minecraft support, but it lead me here that I had already tracking days before, but where was no obvious sign of progress.😂
Here's the response:
"We are tracking several issues revolving around disconnects from realms with worlds being reverted, and are working on updates to fix these as soon as we can. For more information, check out REALMS-6812.
Thank you so much for your patience while we get to the bottom of this.
We appreciate you letting us know.
Best Regards,
Cobble"
Let's hope they fix this soon😅

I’ve been having this issue for about a week and noticed that it was whenever it went to auto save. Now it won’t let me revert to older backups or replace the file. Am just looking for information.

This issue started for the realm I'm apart of when we received the last hotfix on Wednesday(01/20/21) morning. I was the first person to try and log on that morning and was disconnected twice, then I left the game alone. At about 11:20AM CST another player entered the realm and was able to play and then got disconnected at about 12:05PM CST. When he entered the realm again all progress he had made was lost and he even lost his neitherite axe that he had before entering the realm that day. This player entered the realm for a third time and was again disconnected. After that no one was able to join the realm without being disconnected.

This happens to my realm regularly. It seems to happen slightly less often if multiple people are on–although it still happens–and if all redstone machines are turned off–although it still happens.

If you notice that Realm disconnects (in this comment referred to as a crash) occur when a player is near a village, you may like to try:
Breaking and replacing all beds in affected villages
Ensuring all villagers in a village have bed access (or removing all beds so that it isn't considered a village)
Moving villagers to a different place
Avoiding villages that cause crashes
If logging on is not possible you may use a tool such as MCCToolChest/Universal Minecraft Editor to manually change the player position.
It might also be possible to manually move or delete villagers (if the applications listed above have updated to support the latest chunk format). If this is possible navigate to the chunk in which the villager is in, and delete the villager or change its coordinates to be far away (you must first cut and paste the villager to the far away chunk).
For crashes not related to village(r)s or crashes that are not more than usual after 1.16.200, please search up another report.
The issue of a rollback after a crash is MCPE-12347.

Having the same issue as of yesterday evening and it persists today and it is impossible to play on our realm on PS4.
Will try to connect via Android and Windows 10 and see if the issue can be seen there as well.
@OcelotOnesie any updates on this would be appreciated. I will for the time being refrain from filing a new issue, as it will most likely only be duplicated to this and closed - by the look of things.
UPDATE: after one disconnect on my Android-tablet I was able to play for about 10-15 minutes on Android. At the same time my daughter was able to also play on the PS4 on the same realm. After those minutes we were both disconnected simultaneously and the progress had not been saved. Two friends also seem to disconnect at the same time (the are on Windows 10).
So the issue does seem to me to be regardless of platform, and also seems to be intermittent. Our internet connection is fine and I conclude the issue is on server-side.

Just to add my sixpence: my world also has a relatively large village which we've built from scratch, and it's in that area we mostly play.
That seems to feature in other people's comments.
However, the village is not as populated as it's previously been, and it's been at the same size for quite some time, whereas we're only experiencing this issue for the past few days, with it only becoming unplayable last night.
Prior to this, though, we did have a lot of creatures despawning.

I also have this issue and I am not sure if this has any relevance, but we have two realms, and this appears in only one of them. The worlds are totally different, but both have a somewhat large village. The difference I can point out is that the realm we have the issue with is a survival world, the one with no issue is a creative world (and this is the one more often used). Again, I am not sure this has any significance.

Seems to be a staff-reply here: https://bugs.mojang.com/browse/REALMS-6945?focusedCommentId=902988&page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel#comment-902988
in short, it is realms-related and nothing done on user-side will remedy the issue. They are working on it.

Approaching two weeks with this problem now. Must be one hell of a bug if they still haven't figured this out.
On the up side, I've been playing Java instead, which actually has shaders and texture choices that don't suck and don't require a 6 gig graphics card to play.
Just saying, your only selling point with Bedrock is cross-platform stability guys. If you can't manage that.... RIP.

Hello this evening 27/01/20121 from 23.00 p.m. (+1 GMT Amsterdam, Berlin, Rome), if I log in with my account in the realms, the server after 1/2 minutes disconnects all players, console, pc, tablet. I play with an Xbox One S. Strangely, if I don't log into the realms, players with pc and tablet continue to play without problems.

Just had two more rollbacks earlier today, within 15 minutes.. Realm lag and entity corruption is getting really bad too.. Realms is unplayable, so I've canceled my subscription and am going to look into hosting my own private server on Azure.

I also have the problem, only when I log in as the owner of the realm are all players disconnected after 1-3 minutes. I don't play, everyone else can play normally

I make every bet that this one quota problem with the owner of the server is max 200MB, that would also explain why there is a disconnect only when the owner is logged in. The file goes into local mode when you play and immediately saves over 200 MB ... See the pictures I have attached above.
And suddenly there are an incredible number of children in the village

I've been experiencing this bug as well on a realm I play on. It seems like every time we try and go near the end portal/stronghold, the realm says it's disconnected and it rolls back.
The most frustrating thing is that I've found no workaround, re-logging before going near the stronghold still rolls back to before that, so there might be an issue with how realms creates rollback saves.

i think i fixed it for me by walking away from my base. i have a lot of sugarcane and villagers. i feel like it might be the villagers.
this bug is very annoying I've lost a lot of work because it rolls back to a old saves. kinda scared to play now

When will something finally happen
Then I'll have to cancel my subscription here and go to Nitrado, since Mojang and Microsoft don't want to fix the error.

Got my bill processed for a product I can't currently use. Inbeed a refund, and some indication that there is light at the end of this tunnel.

I am now switching on the German Consumer Agency. Taking money for nothing in return is a fraud in Germany. www.verbrauchzentrale.de

Absolutely agree! But how do we even know that Mojang is reading this!?
It has been over two weeks since I've been unable to stay connected to the server for more than three to five seconds.

This issue is being caused by a crash in the Bedrock dedicated server. The crash has been assigned to the appropriate engineer, and is assigned our highest priority. As soon as we have a fix for the server, we'll get that rolled out to Realms customers

Thanks for the heads up Cullen, at least we know now that Mojang is working on it

Finally we have been acknowledged👏🏻
Thanks for the update Cullen👍🏼
Fingers crossed the fix isn't to far away now🤞🏼

Hello, me (owner) and two of my friends have been playing on my realm for about a little less than a month now. It started off great but has now become a disaster in regards to disconnects and continues rollbacks which makes the realm unplayable since you loose all progress. Disconnects happen at random, sometimes more common another time it's far inbetween. I'm paying for this service which provides nothing for it in return currently as the issue is not being addressed anywhere.
The realm has also been experiancing severe lag at times in ticks, disppearing mobs such as villagers after rollback and thus it's pretty frustrating to even log in and enjoy the game at this point.

Thanks Cullen!!! Excited to hear this and thank you so much for letting us know!
As you can tell... lots of folks here think Minecraft rocks and we're stoked to play! 🙂 Thanks again. I, for one, really appreciate your (plural) efforts.
Cal

Hi Cullen,
glad to know that this issue is being fixed!
just wondering if there will be consideration of partial refunds for the time the realm was unusable (for me, about 2 weeks now).
thanks!

Many Thanks @unknown

Nice to know someone is working on it. Not sure how we can help the engineer out. All I know is my recently updated villagers disappeared and it seems like 488MB is the limit for my realm size. Not sure what anyone else has for a size. It seems to work fine in my personal private server so far.

Any updates or a possible ETA?
Asking when we can play something that we pay for doesn't seem like an unreasonable request. Just kind of sitting in the dark here

@Mega_Spud and @cuwaters
For us, the disconnect-issue seems to be very much related to one particular village.
As soon as one of us gets too close or into the village the disconnect occurs.
As we are quite new to MC and Realms, we were happy to find a village that actually had villagers after a couple of weeks, so we happily created more (lots of) beds and fed the three villagers there were and lo and behold a few days later there were some 20-30 villagers staring us down wherever we went... A couple of friends of our daughters apparently had enough at one point and went on a killing spree (I claim no responsibility whatsoever) and there were all of a sudden only a few villagers left... Some time later there were scores of little villagers running around and it is after this incident I have started pinpointing the disconnect issue to be related to this particular village.
I cannot say for sure that this village has been the sole reason, as I do not have insight as to the whereabouts of the murderous friends of our daughters, but the past couple of days we have been disconnected as soon as one of us gets close to the village in question.
I will now look into how to download the realm, play locally and try and get rid of the village or atleast its inhabitants and upload the realm again afterwards.

I am experiencing these disconnects and reversions to older auto-saves too. After about 5 to 10 minutes of play, by myself, in a Bedrock 10-player realm, I get disconnected and everything reverts back to the beginning save. If I estimate that the time is coming when I will get disconnected, and I manually "save and quit" the game before it happens, upon re-entering the realm It will have been reverted back to the last auto-save again or it will continue where my "save & quit" saved but disconnect me again shortly thereafter and revert back to the auto-save before my manual save once more.
If I just keep redoing my build and re-entering the server every time I get disconnected, I sometimes get a little further into my build when an auto-save successfully saves it. I build over and over again, 5 steps forward 4 steps back... very frustrating. Sometimes the Switch won't connect at all to the realm, timing out before it connects several times before allowing me in.
It happens whether I'm playing with high or low video settings, default skin or custom, on my Nintendo Switch or my Windows 10 machine. It is a vanilla survival realm on normal mode with the default texture enforced. Running Minecraft Bedrock version 1.16.201 on the realm, Windows 10, and Nintendo Switch. Windows 10 and Switch are completely up to current updates as of 1/30/2021.
I'm connecting to the internet on 100mb down/10mb up Cable with steady bandwidth both ways.

I've been experiencing the same issue, and as others have mentioned the disconnect / save rollbacks happen around a village. We've also experienced near-total overnight depopulations of said village despite nobody being logged in. We are on a Bedrock 10-person realm.
I've also tried the same save/quit technique @GJPiper mentioned as a workaround with the same results.
Sadly we've been forced to take a pause playing Minecraft as it's unworkable to continually have your realm rolled back a day.

My brother and I have been having the same issue, off and on, for the past several weeks. It's been really bad for the past 3 days. I was playing earlier for about 30 minutes and received the Disconnected From Server message and it reverted back to where I began the day, all the work/changes I had made are lost. This is quite frustrating to say the least. I live in MO and my brother lives in AL, we play on different platforms, at differnt times usually, and the only thing we do have in common is the realm we play on.
With this many people reporting the same problem this is well beyond connection or internet issues, this is something either with the application or with the realm service provider. Let's Go Microsoft/Mojang, you're making tons of money off of us and in return we expect a reliable and stable game experience. There are LOTS unhappy gamers out here and before you start to lose our interest (and money), you need to fix the issue very soon.

Starting Jan 29th this happened for us around a specific village (30-40 population). I used to be able to go 500 blocks away or so and not have resets; this is no longer the case and as of Jan 31st the disconnects/loss of progress happen consistently and anywhere (bases up to 5000 blocks from the large village).
This also seemed to happen after mining in the nether around this specific village. We bed mined in the nether "below" the village and destroyed enough to get 20+ ancient debris; we crashed immediately after leaving the nether starting Jan 29th. We restored to a backup made on Jan 28th, prior to nether mining and still experience the issue.
Steps to reproduce:
Sit there for 5-10 minutes
Disconnect and lose progress

Similar to Gary's reproduction technique, it seems to me that the issue comes from being AFK, but this is so easily debunked. Sometimes that's the case, but other times someone stays still for like 2 minutes and it breaks, other times everyone's doing something and then it just breaks, and other times it just happens randomly for no reason.
Very stuck with this problem.

Having the same issues. Crashes every few minutes and reverts to an old save. Even if we have save & quit and come back in correctly...if we crash it loses that save and reverts back to another.

I've been having the same issue fir the last 24 hours. Anywhere between 5-30 minutes of playing and then everyone gets disconnected and it reverts back to save before we started playing. Nothing to do with AFK.
I downloaded the world and replaced it with a new one which didn't seem to have this issue. But when I reverted back to my original world on the realm, the issue resumed as usual. Making the game totally unplayable.

Tried to upload a new map to replace my realm, tried resetting realm, neither worked, does seem to occur when I go to my main village, gutted as this game was getting me through lockdown, depressed now hope this get resolved soon, I pay per month and I have a kid so this sucks 😞

I had just been raiding in the End on a realm and the game disconnected the three players that were online. Then we log back on to find ourselves back 10 minutes. I was one complete end city back, another player who had died and lost all their items had their items back, and the last player who had mined lots of diamonds had lost all of them. Once again this morning I went mining for like an hour, saved and quit the game with no problem, logged back on and all my progress was gone. This is a serious problem that must be fixed.

what happened to the old report that had been partialy resolved? That one should be reopened. And for some reason I can no longer access it.
I literaly just posted a comment on this report today and now it is not letting me access it

I play five to ten minutes then the server gets reset. I think it has to to with entering the end. Add a comment if you also enetered the end and then the bug occured.

No it's not related to the End. It happened in the overworld as well

I added a video to show exactly what happens. The building next to me is a village breeder, I have heard of problems from villiages. My friends before the bug were end city busting, so if they spawn in they will be in the end. The bug only started after we went into the end. I played for less than a minute and got kicked. The blocks I mined disappeared. without the breaking animation. I played on Windows 10 eddition of bedrock. This is a bedrock only bug I think (fact check: also happens on java).
Edit: I forgot to add the bug started Jan 28th

incorrect - we are only playing in the otherworld - and we are playing on Java. We have been near villages and away from villages when it happened.

On our side (bedrock) we have the same issue of disconnection but we never entered *the End, nor do we have any huge mechanisms or buildings. It happened out of the blue, and it also started around the 28 January. i keep trying and by chance a backup is made shortly but i still get disconnected and brought back to that backup which is like 5 minutes of progress minus the other 15 minutes after the backup that gets lost.
And i notice everything is lost when animations stop moving like bees or breaking blocks.

As per my previous comment, we suspect it is (for us) purely related to a specific village.
As long as we do not go near it we are fine, and have been able to play hours on end.
As far as I can tell, in that specific village, there are only two out of many villagers left and of those two one is trapped behind an fence - that is all I have been able to gather from multiple attempts running into the village from different angles before being DCed.
I have changed the path of the road to go far away and around the village, and my daughters cats will have to be on their own until this bug has been resolved.
No The End-game for us, so that seems to not be a key. Bedrock ed.

I've been having this issue on my Realms for the last 2 weeks. The first time it happened, it was when I was breaking and placing villager workstations in a large village. The second time was also caused by this. But ever since it happened the first time, every user frequently gets disconnected and the world is reverted back to ~30 minutes prior. It has been happening consistently. This has made Realms unplayable for the last 2 weeks, and I will not be continuing my subscription if it continues to happen.

This bug happens when people are not near the village. The chunks are not loaded for the villiage I made. I highly doubt it is a village problem, it is more like a server problem.

Thought I'd add my experience with this. Started with a new realm and friends last week and was working absolutely fine - recently we have expanded the village and created more villagers. Though has been working fine for a few days since that. We got our first disconnect issue on Saturday 30th January, just myself on the realm - other players then went on the realm after me and had no issues.
Following day we got the disconnect issue again though when I was in the server. This then developed into a disconnect after around 20 minutes and reverts back to the original save when loading in. This has now developed into a disconnect after 30 seconds into joining the realm.
Seems strange that it only happened when I - the realm owner was on the realm. Then developed into an issue for everybody in the realm
Hope this helps with diagnosing the issue as realms are currently unplayable.

My realm server works without any problems, but my friend's doesn't. I think it has something to do with entering the end. The one that works I never enetered the end. The one that doesn't we all enetered the end and left it.

The issue also seems to be coming up with nether portals,
I'm using the xbox series x.

Mine disconnects and reverts even if I'm the only player in the world and I have not been to the end or nether in quite a while (weeks). Just logging in to the overworld and standing there looking around it will within 15 minutes disconnect me. A random interval, mind you – anywhere from 2 to 15 minutes no matter where I am or what I'm doing.

Could it be shulker boxes? That is what my friends were questioning.

We don't have a single shulker box...so isn't that...

Maybe it's a combination of the age and the amount of entities in the area/server?

Dude, for a refund you'll need to contact costumer support. Not bug report. It's a completely different team that don't really communicate much. Just go to the place you bought the realm from and contact them.

Altough I mentioned this quickly in an earlier comment, I believe it important to say in more detail that this reversion to an older save did not only happen when the game disconnected the players. The most recent time, I had been playing and mining alone on the realm for an extended period of time when I decided to loog off. Therefore I saved and quit which had no problems and once back to the home screen I closed the game. When I retured the next morning, other players were already on, however, the game had reverted to half way through my mining session. I do not understand how this happened as I has saved and quit without any problems to find the game had not actually saved the first time when I was alone on the realm. As mentioned above this may have something to do in part with the End as this started soon after we entered and conquered the End, however I would say that this cannot be the principle cause, and it must be looked in further.

My issue was fixed for a week and all of a sudden it came back. It started happening before we conquered the End and continues happening.

when I first signed into play I get a flash of this notice-Global resources failed to load previously.
Almost three weeks since I've been able to play in realms. The game loads and within a few seconds I am disconnected from the server. I play on a mobile device.

We've counted 8 today alone. To me it seems to have all kicked off a week ago when there was an update to realms and then has gotten steadily worse and worse. It happens on my realm no matter what is going on - 2 players or 10 it doesn't matter.

In my realm it seems I can "control" when this happens. The disconnect and roll back always happens when I am leaving nether. It loads the overworld, then it says disconnect. Loading again and it has rolled back to a backup. But it does not always happen (it did before, but maybe the latest updates has solved parts of the problem). I realized it always happens when I was in a certain area in Nether where I went to to mine black stone. If I were in other areas, it never disconnects. I tried this a few times. Went to the black stone area and tried to mine, just stay there for some time, kill some mobs etc. Different things. And if I only mined a few blocks and did not kill any mob, it never disconnects. But if I mine more, stayed longer, killed more mobs, it disconnects. Or even only went there to mine like half a stack quickly and then went back, it also disconnects. But any other area works fine. Also other areas with black stone. So I do not go back to that troublesome area any longer, and now I do not have the problem any longer with disconnects.
This happens when I am alone on Realm or we are two players. Both on PC and PS4/PS5.

I'm seeing some kind of pattern like @unknown is noticing too. I have a large area of flowing water, and where it flows across a merge-area of two biomes it always disconnects me if I approach the border of the two biomes. No portals needed for me. It could also be the border between two chunks.

Is anyone experiencing the issue on recently created worlds/Realms (16-17th January) and later? I suspect the recent temporary change to sim dist 10 may have indirectly caused crashes (nearly all reports are after 14 January, which was around the time the sim dist was changed). The caveat is that it is only a correlation, but a pretty strong correlation nonetheless.
I'm not sure why the staff have not requested an affected world to test this but it might be helpful to do so. Perhaps they already know the root of the issue and are actively fixing it.

So I tried playing a back up from before the issue started in a world off the realm and then restoring the realm from that (as others have suggested) and it allowed me to stay in the world for a couple of mins, instead of the 30s or less I was previously getting. But it's just as bad as ever. Totally unplayable, and now hours of creativity lost due to backing up. As the issue remains unresolved, and still appears unassigned, my realm and I have decided to unsubscribe.
Has anyone had any luck getting refunds?

Honnestly, for bedrock it's still 4 according to their twitter. If you read their replies to questions. Also, there's no flowing water nearby our main base nor in it. There is however a 5 by 5 by 5 fishing Hole. If you'd Cound that as a large body of water but its not flowing or anything. All source blocks. However, there might be a cause with overflow because we do have a lot of farms there, including a villager trading hall with a fair emound of them. And a lot of storage. Like the a silo of more them 600 chests full to the max with stone varients and other items.

They changed it to 10 for about 2 days. REALMS-6805
Crashing may be a leftover effect from functions breaking themselves and failing to resolve.

I exported my Realms world and tried running it in an instance of Bedrock Dedicated Server. I chose a backup from about a week ago, lo and behold after 10 minutes of playing on my own server with those world files, the server crashed exactly the same way Realms does.
The exception stack trace seems to indicate it's got something to do with the background village management in the software, at least in my case when it was scanning something to do with beds in the village.
One of the players was trading with villagers at the time, we're going to try razing the village and recreating it, to see if it helps. (though that is a bit backwards in the bad way - i.e. assuming the world data is corrupt and crashing the server, rather than the server has a bug and is crashing on normal world data)
Here's the full stack trace (the items in bold show the most specific thing the server was doing when it crashed);

We are experiencing this issue without any od the preset conditions in the bug description. I was just restocking my rocket shop on a mushroom island and ... boom. Rollback for about 30 mins. I suppose potentially it may have happened at backup point but i have no idea

Info and some things I have learned from trial and error in game.
this issue began on our realm shortly after I doubled the size of our village and number of villagers. (We have established our base in a village and have between 20-29 villagers/2 golems).
Disconnect does not seem dependent on how many players are logged in. Instead it seems to depend on player proximity to the village.
Disconnect seems to take place either around or presicely at sunrise.
While on the realm alone, I can avoid the disconnect by running far away from my village before night, and returning after sunrise. But if I attempt to remain in the village for an entire day/night cycle then the disconnect will occur.
This world was originally created on Jan 30th 2021

None of us have been to the end on this world, and I don't believe we have gone to the nether yet either.

Our realm is having the same issue. We do have a large number of villagers, approximately 40-50 in a 200 block radius.

I have the same issue and it does not appear to matter if I am near one of my villages or in a new quiet location I am working on. I get about 20 minutes in to a session, disconnect and lose progress.
Very frustrating having to chop down the same tree several times.

I get DC'd almost right aways. It used to be after 5 mins then got even sooner.

On Tuesday I signed up to the 30 day free trial for realms on PS4 bedrock edition and this exact thing happened straight away, I had uploaded one of my worlds to the realm. Very frustrating. Yesterday I tried uploading the world again and overwritten the old realm and it seems to be working fine so far? I’m worried it could happen again at any moment though. We have lots of villagers and they still keep breeding but is working fine so far so that can’t be the issue?

It started happening again today, was fine all day yesterday

As stated in the comment link on the very first line of the description this issue is known about and is being worked on. Simply click on the link to read what "Mojang" said about this issue. Please do not add "me too" or similar comments, nor requests for updates, as those are unhelpful and subject to deletion. @Umija5895M,
Thank you for taking the time to post here. What users want, like any human being, is to feel that they are being listened to and not ignored.
On the content of posts, I feel that virtually all users have attempted to post some form of specific situational circumstance that describes their experience. Whether this is helpful is up to the support team, but it certainly is data nonetheless. What is clear is that:
The issue is persistent
The issue is extensive
The issue is damaging to player experience of a paid service
Considering that some users have been experiencing this issue for many weeks, I think there should be some empathy with their desire for an update on attempts at formulating a resolution.
You should also take into account that posting here ensures updates are automatically provided to that user.
Indeed, it is good incident management practice to keep users well informed of progress towards resolving incidents. No incident management system I know of, such as ITIL, recommends keeping users uninformed or trying to silence user engagement, as long as it is not abusive of course.
Again, thank you for recognising that this is being worked on. And I hope that there will be a resolution soon so this incident can be closed.

The same thing started happening to me about two weeks ago.
It tends to happen at my base where there are a lot of chests, villagers, etc., and most of the time it happens when I'm accessing various chests to organize my belongings.
Also, nearby villagers have disappeared and new children have been added.
Once disconnected from the server, I work around this by downloading the latest backup once, organizing my belongings locally, and uploading the data.
My world is about 280MB in size.
I hope this problem will be solved as soon as possible and the money I am paying for the subscription will not be wasted.

Is this issue related to REALMS-1489? That issue also relates to disconnects and roll backs, but is only when using portals to travel back from Nether. This is part of the description for this ticket: "Traveling between dimensions". That issue has been active since August last year.
In my case the disconnect and rollback only happens when travelling from Nether to overworld. My findings so far:
It also happens when downloading the world from my realm and play it locally on my PC. Windows crash report does not say much though.
It seems like it mostly happens when using my second portal which is closer to my village and Iron farm (also a village). This portal is also closer to my sorting machine/base where more complex redstone and a lot more items are located. Not sure if this has an impact.
I get a feeling that the more time spent in Nether increases the risk of crashing
In some rare cases it does not disconnect immediately when traveling back, but instead the overworld is loaded and then disconnected 1-2 minutes later.
The rollback most often loads a backup before I went to the Nether. But in rare occasions a backup when I just entered the Nether is loaded.
It happens when I am alone in the realm and when we are two players and one of us travels back from the Nether
It happens on Android, PC, PS4 and PS5

For people who have been having this issue lately I can share a quick fix that seems to have worked on my Realm (for now at least).
I haven't experienced crashes in a while now and it seems the cause of all the problems were villagers in my town.
I set up a little shop in which villagers were trapped behind fences, were not given beds and their range of movement was quite small as the space in which they were trapped was not that large.
My quick fix goes as follows:
Free the villagers from any entrapment they may be in, give them a good amount of space to roam in. You can still close them in a house or building, just let them stretch their legs a bit.
Put down one bed for each villager. The bed must be accessible for each one of them and easy to reach.
Put down a job-site block for each villager corresponding to their current job. If they do not have a job, assign them one. The job-site block must be close to the villager and accessible/easy to reach, just like the beds. (If you do not know much about villager job-site blocks you can easily google it and have a look at the wiki)
As a quick recap, at the end of all the steps you should have villagers that go to bed at night and to the job-site block during the day without any obstacle.
Keep in mind that if other beds or job-site blocks are near the villagers, they may try to go to those ones instead of the newly placed ones, so to be sure I removed all beds and job-site blocks that may have interfered with the new ones I just placed for the villagers.
If all of those steps don't work, you can try the nuclear option and just "remove" all the villagers near your town/house and see if the problem is solved. (I recommend backing up your world first, you never know).
Hope this works out for other people as it seems it worked for me!

Will try. I have not very much space but lots of beds and stations already. I also will kill some of the villagers. If this doesn't work I will add another comment.

Another tmporary fix perhaps: I have set up an iron farm with 20 villagers with no problem yet. They are all in a 1x1 water which prevents them from loosing their assigned work station and probably reduces the amount of processing that goes into their parthfinding. Our problems are linked to the End I believe for the most part... Also for anyone with these problems, or lag problems, I would suggest, as a good rule of thumb on any world, look up block entities on wiki and remove as many of these as possible in an immediate area. This helps reduce lag and probably the workload on the realm.

Another way to kill the villager pathfinding is a double carpet system.

You download the realm to a normal world then fix the issues. Then you upload the world back to the realm.

I just created a new issue for this same problem, and now see this one. So I'm adding my observations, in case my issue gets removed as a duplicate, and in case it helps someone...
In my case I'm on a 10-user subscription Bedrock Realms world, with between 1 and 3 players on concurrently.
I first noticed this problem about 4 days ago. It happened once (booted me and I lost several minutes worth of work). But it didn't happen again.. until tonight. My friend and I were booted 4 times in a row over a 30-45 minute window. Each time all our work was reset (except for a couple of minor things done right after we logged in following the first boot).
For me, it doesn't seem to be tied to significant world changes, doesn't seem to be tied to a specific user logging in, and is occurring when only 2 users are on. There was no traveling between dimensions occurring when this problem occurred. It was happening in a location where there are quite a few villagers (about 35), though I was reducing them in number (killed a few) and it still happened. Also, this villager count was about the same yesterday when this problem was not occurring after a couple of hours of smooth play.
Version of the game I'm using is 1.16. One client is Windows 10, the other is an Xbox.
In total this problem occurred 4 times within the -45 minutes window, and reached a point of making the game unplayable.
We've been trying to disburse the villagers on my world, but they stubbornly refuse to go outside the underground compound they were bred in (even though an open door is right there and we've destroyed most of their beds).

Update: i freed the 2 villagers i locked up for market, and i got disconnected instantly. next day my friend tells me he has no issues from where he is (outside of my village) and hes been playing for more than 30 minutes.
i log in, and get disconnected instantly, and he then tells me he experienced the same thing.

The disconnect and rollback I have experienced on my realm is not consistent with the listed potential reasons. We have at most 4 players on the realm, 2 in Mexico on Xbox and 2 in the US on Windows. Even when I am playing alone with no others on the server, the disconnect and rollback happens. The same is true when only one of my Mexican friends is playing alone in Mexico. We have a village nearby, however, there have never been more than maybe 10 villagers at any given time. Also, since this issue has been occurring, villagers and horses in full armor have disappeared as collateral damage. The realm is unplayable at this point, so hopefully this issue will go from "postponed" to "in progress"

Same issue.
Some interesting features of the village, as disconnect happens more often in the village.
"Home Base" has a village with many many beds in it. But nobody is trapped.
About 200 meters away there is an iron farm with 20 villagers trapped in it.
There are 3 of us un the realm, 2 on xbox, 1 on PC. When all three of us are on... it doesn't seem to disconnect.
When I, the host, am on solo I disconnect every 5-30 minutes. This didn't happen before the update.

This bug never stops happening for me. The realm is completely unaccessible, you can't join without being kicked after 30 secs. The mob AI in the server won't even load, they all just stand there without AI. The realm I play in has the most severe problem compared to everyone else who is able to play on it for short spans.

The bug stopped happening a little bit

Not for me.
The last three weeks I am disconnected from the server within a few seconds of logging in. Other players can play and save progress as long as they stay away from the main village and one other large villages. When approaching either of those villages they are disconnected. If they are playing and I try to log in we are all disconnected at the same time.

I have the same problem.
Xbox one x
First when i played local with my kids (the one when I have to be on the map for them to play)
It started bugging, the xbox sometimes froze and shut it self down completly. Like turning the off switch.
The savegame was about 21 mgb.
Well so we tried realms.... (2weeks ago)
It worked really well, in the start, a little village, portal and so on. About same size for the savegame.
Suddenly we loose connection to the server, and it mostly happens when i log in.
The other people can sometimes play a bit. But also the loose connection.
Play for about 2-10 min then it looses connection.
This is what i tried with no luck:
Hard reset on xbox and router.
Deleted and reinstalled the game on the same hardrive and and external hardrive
Open ports on router to bypass firewall.
Changed ip to static
Changed router to another model and another internett distriburor.
Open up the xbox, removed all dust and cleaned fans. Be aware (you will lose your warrenty by doing this, so not recommended)
Killed villagers in ralms.
Removed the portal.
Loaded an older save.
No issues with other games.
No issues with my Ark server.
The problem still exsist. The game remains unplayable both local and realms, and its sad that this problem har been long lived: when you google it, dates back even furter, 4-5 years with simelar issues.
Understand that this is being looked into now, and thats great, and it also would great with news updates from Mojang regarding this issue.
Payed for the game, payed for realms.
So yeah.. This is not a happy man right now.
Update:
Dowbloaded the map. I can play solo with no problems. Both mainworld and nether.
In realms i can go into nether, and play with no problems there. When i go back it breaks down. But now my last save is in the nether in realms

Since yesterday I am having a lot of problems playing Minecraft on my brother's Realms server.
We are constantly being disconnected from the server about every 15 minutes or instantly whenever we try to enter my village.
So since yesterday we have avoided going into my village . . . Not cool, right?
But today the problem not only persists, but it got worse!
Has been very annoying... Not just because we cannot go inside the village, but because it has been very difficult even to connect to the server. We need to try dozens of times just for being constantly disconnected and lose all the progress, even though we saved the game several times!

The same issue has been happening to me and my family members who play in a common world on the realms server. I'm always disconnected from the server within 1 minute after logging into the server and everything is rolled back (+ some disappearance.) It's very annoying.
Originally, I thought the issue was some glitch on the Realms server, so I downloaded the world data from the Realms server and launched a dedicated server (https://www.minecraft.net/en-us/download/server/bedrock/) by myself that hosts the downloaded world so we can keep playing in the same world.
However, the same issue happens even when I logged in to the world running on the dedicated server as the same user (me). At this time, the dedicated server returns an error message that says the server crashed. So, it's not the issue specific to the Realms server but any Minecraft server with a certain version should have the same issue. This aligns with the fact that a family member whose character is not around the village (where my character is) does not have the disconnection issue when she's playing alone. When I logged in to the world and encountered the disconnection issue, she's also kicked out, which totally makes sense if the server process crashed.
Let me attach the error message FYI. I believe (hope) the bug report was automatically sent to the developer. I'm not a developer and I have no idea about those function calls. My guess is that, in my case, too many villagers & too many beds (+ some special condition) or something like that may be the main cause of the crash.

Bedrock Realms are based on Bedrock Dedicated Server, so it is known that the crash will happen with BDS also. From the stack trace it does look like the crash is related to villager POIs in this case anyway.

@Umija5895 Thank you for your reply! Let me know if my issue shared above is within the scope of this ticket. If not, please give me a pointer to a ticket that is more suitable for the issue. Thanks!**

Killed all villagers I had. Works perfectly.

Playing experience has been worse than normal for the past 4 days. I am running Windows10 and my brother, who is experiencing the same problem, is plyaing on the mobile platform (PE). For the past several months we'd get kicked off periodically after anywhere from 15-45mins of gameplay, only to find any advanements or changes we'd made were lost. In some cases, it's glitching and deleting items (cows, sheep, dogs, cats) which we had long before being kicked off.
Over the past 4 days, the kicking has escalated and we are getting kicked off every time we connect within a minute of connecting. I live in MO and he lives in AL, and the ONLY thing we have in common is the Realms server.
We have recently been expanding and building up a village and have a large number of Villagers bred. As an FYI, we have 3 other villages (all more than 2048 blocks apart) which have more villagers than this particular village. So, in following the theory it's related to villager POIs and before we killed off villagers, we spun up a new Realms server to see, if with a clean map, we could log in and play. We are having the exact same problem on the new server, with a fresh seed/map. We are still getting booted within a minute of connecting...and as far as I am aware, this new map has ZERO to do with the old map.
We are able to successfully play on locally stored maps and I am able to play with others on my local network. It makes no sense other than there are issues on the Realms side.
Other than data/time/ram/memory/OS/etc, is there a log/report/snapshot we can export and upload to allow Mojang to review? If this is documented somewhere, please let me know. If not, we'll need instructions for WIndows10 and PE on where to find that data.
This is really beyond frustrating.

I am not sure if this helps narrow down what is causing the issue. After reading about the idea of killing off the villagers I took it one step forward by killing off the children first. (Without any actual knowledge to minecraft code) I figured that when the kids become adults they must get converted somehow and possibly during that change is where the corruption occurs. This appears to have resolved our disconnecting and and so far have had no issues.

I played for like an hour when I killed all my villagers, but then it reset an hour to when they were alive. I think it has to do with the end because then problem started once we went to the end city expansion.

We have the same issue of being disconnected and losing progress (along with partial rollback i.e. everything is rolled back except last player positon and his horse disappeared/and or disappearing villagers). Although initially, it seemed to be related to villagers killing all villagers with /kill command and removing all the beds didn't fix it for us. No single villager is around and Realms world is still crashing and reverting to last backup. Logs were enabled on owners account but were empty after the crash anyway so no other info. It's happening more often than backup are created and also backups clearly didn't contain all villagers that were there when this backup was created.

It's clear at this point the issue is with Vilagers somewhat, be it navmesh, breeding or simply refreshing their inventories with workstations but i think it's clear from the comments the issues are with Villagers. Simplest fix for Mojang would be to implement a villager population cap per map tile or chunks. This would make the could service for realms more stable. If everyone has had a different experience with personal fixes and the issue starting (All conveniently when people have villager farms) so it's either:
-Iron golem spawning
-Villager navmeshing
-Villager breeding/population issues
-refreshing workstations/beds
I suggest people cancel their subscription until this issue is fixed and download the realm world data and play locally, and when the issue is resolved upload the updated world file to the realm. This would serve the extra function of allowing the realm server to be more stable with less actions being taken on the server level (Mining/farming/breeding/building)
(Note this is my thought process on the issue, not an official response)

This bug isnt just the villagers. It's deeper than that. The server is having conflicts with villagers in some worlds, but other worlds without villagers the server is conflicting with something else. I think there is a villager conflict and another conflict we haven't identified.

as @billy said, and im gonna try again bc my comments keep getting deleted.
I don't have many villagers in my village, they all died over time due to zombies, and none of them are stuck either.
We haven't been in the End yet so thats not the issue either, its way deeper than that.
it would be nice to have an actual update to what mojand has done for now, this issue is nearly a month old

This issue mostly happens when people joins, isn’t not really happening by villagers, because I literally created a world without any entity except me, and I was normal for few minutes, when my friends joined to my realm, after few minutes the realm crashed... So I think isn’t caused by villagers or traveling between dimensions... Also, I suggest to make the auto save more speed, so the data loses isn’t that much, maybe add a setting for Can change the time of an auto safe? Hope my message helps!

It's still happening to my Realm we can't do anything about it

update: i know some already said that, but as a confirmation i left my main village and am hanging out far enough around it and i am not getting disconnected, my friends all are based out of my village so basically they're able to play while i wasn't.
The main village is my work as an admin, i can't continue to work on the main village where there's most of my stuff, i didn't add anything big or complicated in there before and after the issue started. i was in the nether when it started disconnecting. (we have one nether portal in the village)
it's a short term fix but i have nothing to do outside of my village, the rest of the key places belong to my friends.
2 other friends are based inside that village as well and they have the same issue so they stopped playing too, as there's nothing else to do for them outside of that village.

Duncan Almeida, you could always download the world and play on a normal world? Or is that just not possible if you have friends who want to play?

Alexander that beats the purpose of having a realm subscription, and because minecraft has so many issues all the time my friends have a hard time joining my non-realm world and mojang support keeps telling me its an internet problem which isn't true.
i did download the world and played with one friend but more than one wasn't possible to join.

I'm having the same issue. Here is my info to try and help.
Playing on a realm on Xbox Series X/S, Switch, and PS5.
Can seem to play as long as I want anywhere as long as I don't go back to my main village. If i'm in my main village I can play for 5-10 mins before I get the "disconnected from server" error.
I've tried to also use my wife's gamertag with the same issue.
Issue started about 5 days ago.
My main village has quite a bit of villagers, animals, buildings, and bees so i'm not sure if any of those are causing the issue.
I have not been to the End at all so at least for me that's not the issue.
Most of the time it seems to kick me when i'm opening a chest, but not always. Sometimes i'm just walking around and the game randomly kicks me.
Hopefully an fix is issued fast because it's sucks paying for the realm and not being able to use it.

Same problem here, it all started 28/1 when our realm's admin placed a lot of beds and bred some villagers, then they reproduced a bit too much (ending with 50+ villagers) and from that day the nightmare started. A lot of disconnections and save reverted always to the same old state.
He then tried to kill most of them, they are probably 15 left now, but when he is playing inside his tower in the middle of the village the game often disconnects. We tried to download the game on local server and tested it, everything works fine, so he uploaded a backup on realms to play together again. No problem since this saturday 6/2 when the disconnections returned.
The obvious short term fix is keeping our friend out of his village, or maybe annihilate every villager, but I need them for trading...
Unluckily today it also happened to my village, I was playing alone interacting with a weaponsmith, and the disconnection occured, reverting to a previous save (like 20 minutes before). I only have 7 villagers, it's annoying.
This is very frustrating, since we are paying for a service we can't fully use.

The same thing here started happening 2 days ago, everytime we go into my village or nether we disconnect and rollback , so annoying especially as it is a payed for service

Finally working here 👍

The same thing has been happening a lot to our Realm, usually when going to the Nether.

I think I've got my issue relating to this resolved. And I'm sharing my mitigation actions here, in case they help someone else.
It seems to have been caused by a few issues, but by far the biggest one was just the number of villagers in a relatively small area (thanks to those who also suggested this as a major cause!).
We had about 35 villagers in an X-Z area of about 40 blocks by 30 blocks (they were on multiple Y levels). The other (more minor) issues might include: a) them being confined underground, b) some pathing issues, c) beds being too close together (even though they were still sleeping in them), d) crafting blocks being placed between beds with no blocks separating the blocks from either pillow ends of the beds.
Building anything above this underground compound seemed to really exacerbate the server crashing-and-resetting issues, for some reason.
In the end I went into the server alone and killed about half of them. I had to try this two or three times, as the server kept crashing in the middle of the cull. Thankfully, the last time the server didn't crash.
At that point things seem to have stabilized and the crashing has stopped (two or so hours with no crashes, so fingers crossed!). Still seeing some weird behaviors (the ground becoming transparent down to bedrock, villagers suddenly "hrnning" and moving in unison, some movement lag). But so far the server/world is hanging in there.
We also moved all the villagers to an area next to the underground compound they had been in, and made sure they were on the surface. This might have also helped. They are still breeding like rabbits though. They've gone from about 11 up to 18 or 19 in the space of an hour, even with us not explicitly feeding them and limited beds.
Ultimately, I think the problem is with Realms-hosted worlds not being able to handle concentrated, heavy mobile unit (i.e. villager) behaviors. I'm sure there's a lot of logic and rules associated with villagers and their interactions. And high unit numbers * any kind of memory leak or code inefficiencies running on somewhat constrained CPU and/or memory resources is a recipe for problems. But that is just conjecture on my part.

Update:
I have no clue what changed, the only thing i did was replace the realm world with the one i downloaded to play offline with one friend, its the same world but we worked a bit more on that offline version, and just updated it as the realm world
Our villagers are still alive and i still have all of my creatures (bee farm + animal farm)
i see 2 backups have been made since i've been on and in my village, it seems to be working! 🙂
in case it disconnects again i'll update back but i feel lucky today.

Hey everyone!
We've just released a server-side update to Realms (no game update required) that should fix these issues. We've also released the updated Bedrock Dedicated Server software in the form of 1.16.201.03, available at https://www.minecraft.net/en-us/download/server/bedrock/
Please let us know about your experience.

Still keeps disconnecting and reversing progress for me

I am no longer seeing crashing and rolling back. Thank you.
However now we are seeing villagers suddenly disappear. Maxed out villagers disappear and are replaced with babies. New issue as of today.

I have a active smp, and it crashes every 30 minutes. It says you guys fixed the issue. But it still happens. Any fix?

For me it also keeps disconnecting, says it needs to update the realm, how do I update on ps4? I took the map and put another and put the map back, is that how it updates?

I am also not seeing the disconnects nearly as much, but have noted that my towns that had upwards of 50 villagers are now more than 75% babies and most of the adults are gone – perpetually. lol
Thanks for your patience everyone! The server fix that went out addressed a specific crash that a lot of users were facing - there may be other crashes that need addressing separately. If you have steps to reproduce a crash, please add those steps to a new or existing ticket if there is one. (There is no need to report general crashing issues without repro steps here - these will be logged internally.) More information about the types of bugs we and comments we can track here can be found at aka.ms/McBugTrackerHelp
Regarding crashes in general, please remember that after a crash it will reload at the last save point - this is to prevent a world being stuck at a point where it is crashing.
For the other issue mentioned with Villagers being replaced with babies, this will need to be logged in a single new ticket (please do not create multiple duplicate reports of this).

The issue seems to persist on bedrock. My world still crashes after entering and then leaving the nether near spawn.
We have a new ticket tracking the issue with villagers at REALMS-7199 - please add any additional information there. Also, if you are able to provide a copy of the world where this has happened, it would be really helpful in identifying the issue.
On Windows 10 you can use the Export world feature.
On Android or iOS you need to use a file explorer to navigate to Device storage > games > com.mojang > minecraftWorlds
If the world is larger than 10MB you can upload the world to OneDrive or a similar file sharing site, and then share the link at REALMS-7199.

I'm in 1.16.221 and still having the same trouble, we got stuck in a loop where everything goes well but we all get disconnected and start again in a save of half an hour ago.
I'll do the same and let the realm rest for a night.

Hi Farias maybe your realm is corrupted and it’s going to an older save??
Just a thought. Maybe try copying the realm and going onto the world for a bit to see if it’s just the realm or not. 🙂

Happened to us when there were 3 of us on, that was 3 days ago. Just happened to me solo. I’d assume it was from the realm attempting to auto save but instead force disconnected and rolled back the server to the previous auto save. On bedrock.
Edit: this all started happening after owner manually rolled the server back once.

With in 1 week on our realm we have had a few roll backs a day. It will do server disconnect and then when we get back on we are set back a good ways. The post says resolved but it is still doing roll backs

Its still in new version?

This is still happening on Minecraft bedrock version 1.17.32 . It seems to crash realm when more than one person on, going through a portal, or being near a few villages.

This is still happening and is happening daily on my realm, I am the owner but this happens if I'm on own or with others and even if I'm not online and others are

Happened to me 4 times within 30 mins today. Really frustrating. Anyone have any idea how to solve this?

Same issue here. Seems to happen randomly when I simply stand still next to a tree farm and not much else being in render distance. I hope it'll be ectualy resolved at some point instead of having it put on resolved when the issue has resurfaced.

This is still happening. I am not sure "resolved by community consensus" is accurate.

Hey this is still happening. I watched Minecraft Live but they didn't say anything about fixing or upgrading the Realms service. We haven't been able to play on our realms since 1.17 released. Chunks randomly revert back to new chunks and or the game will roll back and load an older save.

Many different bugs can cause a crash. This particular ticket's bug was fixed, and this ticket is marked "Resolved". If you are seeing another bug, I highly recommend using new/other tickets to detail the problems.

For all those who are experiencing this error again, it is being tracked at: REALMS-9078

This issue is happening on our realm again. The realm kicks everyone after 5-10 minutes and reverts back to the last save.

Im having the same problem

This is happening on our realm again too.
Highly frustrating

This is still happening in 1.19. Very annoying paying for realms when you cannot uphold a service you charge people for !! MCPE-12347

This is still happening in 1.20..... Mojang seems to never fix these kinds of things

Not resolved. Happening to me on my own realm, but not to any of the other players who use the same wifi. I've restarted PC and launcher to no avail. I am on Bedrock PC, they are all on bedrock Xbox. All in the same room on the same wifi. It happens whether I'm the only one in the realm or not. No one else has this issue.

This issue definitely is not resolved, even on 1.21.1
Don't understand how servers that we are paying monthly for aren't being fixed, this issue seems to have been around for a long time based off of these comments.
