Realms needs to step up and resolve this known issue that widely affects paying subscribers. If this is not resolved I am cancelling my account and asking for a refund. We were only able to use realms for a few weeks. Host cannot join realms without being disconnected. See thread below that clearly shows this is an issue that is known, affects many, and as of yet no resolution.

We are getting kicked off whenever we log in as the host of the realm. My husband and I own the realm and if one of us logs in then the entire realm disconnects within 5-10 minutes. When other members of the realms log on it is fine. The trigger seems to be when one of us husband (realms owner) or me (not realms owner but logging in on the same device) log in. This happens regardless of spawn location and the realm has no mods. Red stone is not used much just to run a rail and open a door at one location. The problem persists even if the host is the only one logged in. I checked google and forums and this is a commonly recurring issue that is not ok especially for a paid service. We purchased the Realms account on 12/30. We haven’t been able to play since 1/15 which means that since we bought the subscription, your service has been in downtime 33% of the time.

What kind of device are you connecting from? Do you have any other device you can try, and if so, does the same issue happen when logging in from there? Does everyone get kicked from the realm or just you or your husband? Are you both logging in at the same time (ie in a split-screen mode)?
If the problem started for you on 1/15 it is very likely the same issue as REALMS-6812. It would be helpful if you can add information to that ticket also.
Please also understand that the mods (like me) are only community volunteers. Our role is to try to gather as much information as possible for the developers so they can figure out what the problem is. And again, if this is a "commonly recurring issue" discussed on the forums, it is strange that nobody has cited any existing bug reports.

I will add to that ticket. And the volunteer work you do is appreciated. It is frustrating for me as a user that has purchased something and was excited to share with friends and for it to not be running for that last week out of the three weeks I have purchased it. Also the last ticket I issued was closed as invalid because server crashes are logged automatically, which did not address my concern and I had no way to respond. I am sure you understand how helpless and frustrating that would feel.
We are on a PS5 and have tried logging in individually, split screen, from either account in both combinations and they all crash within 5-10 minutes. We all get kicked. The PS5 is the only platform we have. Any information or updates on when or how to fix this would be helpful. We have tried a lot of ways to address it on our end from copying to worlds and back to realms and testing our connection speed. Honestly I don’t think that a lot of people know to or have the patience to log a ticket like this. Thanks for having this dialogue with me.

Thank you for all of the information you have provided. I'm resolving this as a duplicate of REALMS-6812 as it does appear to be the same issue. Unfortunately I don't have any further information at this time. However, if any new information becomes available it would most likely be added to the main ticket so that everyone who is watching that ticket will know about it. As far as I know though, this is an issue with the realms system itself in some way and there's nothing that user's can do about it. The developers are definitely aware of the issue though and I have been assured they are working on it.
The comments in that reddit thread seem to describe several issues, including the relatively recent issue of realms randomly kicking everyone off and rolling back to the previous save, which is reported as REALMS-6812. Does that describe what is happening in your case?
If not, is there anything in the area where you would be logging in to that might cause issues (lots of redstone contraptions, mobs, farms, etc)? If someone else travels to that area do they notice anything? Are there any mods, commands, etc running? If only the owner (I assume that's what you mean by "host") logs on with nobody else connected do they disconnect immediately.
It is also unfortunate that nobody in the reddit thread bothered to cite any existing bug reports for this "persistent issue" as that would help to narrow down the problem or at least gather all relevant information together so the developers can have some idea of what to look for.
This ticket has been temporarily closed as Awaiting Response. It will automatically reopen when you add information.
