Villagers pathfinding with trapdoor or presure plate

Summary:

Hello, the villagers cannot reach their beds or their workstations when the only way is via a hatch (even open) or a door with a pressure plate behind.

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Lock up a villager with a trapdoor or a door with a pressure plate behind as the only exit.

  2. Observe that the villager no longer goes out.

Observed Results:

The villager remains locked up.

Expected Results:

The villager must open the trapdoor or door and go through the open trapdoor or step on the pressure plate.

Villagers have never been able to "open" or toggle trapdoors nor has Mojang ever said that they should. You can request that as a new feature on feedback.minecraft.net.

The behavior with pressure plates is the same as with torches reported at MCPE-116790, and seems to apply to any block that they normally would walk through. I am going to resolve the report as a duplicate. Please add your vote to that report.
