Shulker boxes and loot disappeared completely after game shutoff while sleeping

I finished emptying my shulkers and dropped all ores and materials in a super smelter.  Went back to my storage area and closed the game.  I turn on the switch and the game and it says it has restarted because the game was ejected.  The game was still in.  I ejected it and re inserted.  Game started up.  5 shulker boxes were missing and all my equipment I had been storing is now gone.  All netherite and enchanted.  I searched all boxes in case I accidentally set them in one and they are not there.  I went to check the smelter and nothing was in it.  A full shulker of ores and my equipment is gone.  All of the stones were in the boxes I left them in. But all I cared about is gone.
