My friends and are having this same issue. None of us can access our realm and every time we try it gets stuck on loading resource packs then says unable to access realm.

Thank you for your report!
However, this issue is Invalid.

Issues such as these are often due to a temporary service outage, and are handled by the team outside the bug tracker.

Watch Mojang Status for official announcements, or Downdetector for community reported outages.

If there is no general outage, please first try to verify that the problem is not with your local connection or network settings. Afterwards contact Community Support for assistance and refer to this ticket (e.g. "I have reported this issue on Mojira as REALMS-XYZ.").
You might also try to deactivate any VPN in use, and check your firewall settings. If your device supports mobile data, try switching to wifi. If possible, try using a different wifi network.

If you are still unable to access a paid service such as a realm or purchased content, please contact Mojang Support.

First off I appreciate the feed back Umija. I have gone down these issues and this is something that seems to be persistent with in Minecraft Realms. Also with this being the only wait to report these issues for Realms bit it temporary service outage or a bug with the realm servers where you get a response in a reliable fashion. Perhaps an section for Realm Bug reports would be necessary going forward much like how there is for Bedrock and Java.

Going into further detail about this issue upon trying to upload a backup of the world I saved to the realm it says it failed to find a place to upload a world to. This again leads me to believe there is a bug within the system. (seem Image below) And before you bring up my internet it is running fine at 20mb upload and 300mb download so connectivity shouldn't be an issues.

That said (as I stated above is a issue connecting to a realm regardless the platform (be it Nintendo Switch, Mobile, Xbox One, or even Windows 10) that has been up for some time time). I do understand where you would think of VPN, Firewall settings, or wifi issues but these are not the case as this is a persistent issue no matter who tries accessing it from different parts in the world ( many using multiple different platforms as stated above).  That and the fact that the "Temporary Service Outage" as you put it has been going on now for over 48 hours. Given this fact if this was a temporary service outage at the very least an update from one of the many social media pages for support would be nice.

This is point I have contacted all the roads for support you suggested (as some of them had been done before filling out this report initially). At this point the lack of proper support leads me to feel that Realms and (issues/ bugs surrounding them) are a second thought and that I should cancel the subscription and move on to a Bedrock Dedicated Server service as these don't ever seem to have the issues that realms end up having.
