MCPE-143616

Animal Despawing Bug

BEFORE YOU YOU RESOLVE THIS, THIS IS 100% NOT MCPE-21416. This glitch started happening as soon I updated to 1.17.30. Basically I noticed that all my villagers had disappeared. Then I noticed my snow golems in my slime farm had disappeared and then all my tamed pets. I did some research and thought the glitch I was getting was MCPE-21416 but most of my villagers where not on a chunk border. I did some more testing and using websites like chunkbase I worked out where chunks were in my world and positioned all my important entities inside it. However upon saving and rejoining the game they were gone. Every time I tame a new wolf I leave, make a copy of the world for backup, and rejoin, they will all be gone. This glitch is really annoying and is making me lose motivation in my world. I also know it is not MCPE-21415 because it doesn’t happen on regular auto saved or leaving and rejoining. It only happens when I leave make a copy and rejoin. I have before and after pictures because I was recording while the glitch occurred. As you can see all my villagers and pretty much all my dogs disappeared and they were all dispersed randomly not on chunk borders.

Your report will still be closed as a duplicate of MCPE-21416 (probably). Since in MCPE-21416 any despawn mobs are tracked. I understand how awful it is to see how the game broke your world. You can post your research in the commentary for MCPE-21416, I think it will be useful for researching the problem.

All my villagers, animal and iron golems have disappeared, even the one that have been named. It's been 2 days and nothing has returned yet.

Looks like MCPE-21416 for me, too. The mods and the Bedrock/Realms QA team have accepted that MCPE-21416 occurs with any mob and entity possible, in any situation (crossing chunk borders or not, named or interacted in any form), and it got even worse after 1.17.30 for some reason. Make backups often, and check your valuable entities for missing ones always.

As mentioned in the description for MCPE-21416, the despawning is not limited to chunk borders.
