When crafting an item i cannot place it into my inventory, if i leave crafting table and open inventory again my cursor is the item i tried to make and cant be put down. Other objects cannot be picked up either.

I have crafted recipes on and attempted to make 5 iron pickaxes. I made 4 pickaxes and 1 shovel by mistake because I used shift-click. When I tried to make the 5th pickaxe I could pick it up however I couldn't place it into my inventory. I also couldn't pick up other items in my inventory either. when I left the crafting table I went to press 'E' to open my inventory however the pickaxe was still over my cursor and wouldn't go away. I ended up having to leave the game because I couldnt use my inventory at all.
