The windows 10 minecraft client doesn't appear to implement any cache management of the folders CatalogCache or CatalogScratch under
%user%\appdata\local\packages\Microsoft.MinecraftUWP_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\minecraftpe\
and there's no "Purge marketplace cache" or anything in the windows 10 minecraft client under storage management. it's just unmanagable and not automatically curated or managed by the client. near as i can tell it just builds endlessly with browsing the market place.

this shouldn't be closed unless it was addressed. i feel like my report was accurate and supplied enough information for someone to verify.
its disappointing to go through the trouble of reporting a bug just to have it unceremoniously closed. is someone enforcing bad metrics?

Yes, this is still an issue in the current version as of today.
I just stumbled upon this thread when i tried to find out if it was safe and how to get rid of ~900MB in 8.000 cache files in the folder specified above.
Steps to Reproduce:
Open %HOMEDIR%\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.MinecraftUWP_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\minecraftpe
Find two folders of unethic size in your system relevant AppData folder.
Observed Results:
{{439,2 MB C:\Users\blausand\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.MinecraftUWP_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\minecraftpe\CatalogScratch }}
433,0 MB C:\Users\blausand\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.MinecraftUWP_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\minecraftpe\CatalogCache
{{{}{}}}
Expected Results:
the software taking care of it's footprint on my hard drive properly
the manufacturer giving me a means to flush cache
i shouldn't have to maintain this bug report. just because mojang releases a new version isn't a license to close still active cases.
i had to deal with this again today, purging ~5 gig of data from the content cache's. the content cache is clearly not being maintained. it just downloads everything and never purges or introduces any kind of maintenance.
There is an option to clear marketplace cache in Settings > Storage. Does that resolve your issue? Does pressing the button affect the mentioned directory memory usage?
