[MCPE-149481] Cannot recieve beacon effects below y = 0

To my knowledge beacon effects should travel infinitely in the vertical direction. When I am underground, below y = 0, the beacon effect dissipates.
I am on Minecraft Windows 10 Edition, playing on friends Realm, with friends playing on the PlayStation 4 and 5
