Game (on XBox) won't update to 1.18

I have been trying to get my game to update to 1.18 since it dropped. I've tried everything I could find online as well as asked on Reddit and tried all suggested fixes. I've uninstalled/reinstalled too many times to count; I've deleted/reset MAC address; I've deleted all data under MC; and I finally spoke to XBox Support for over an hour and we tried everything they could suggest - including a full factory reset of the console. It still didn't work. Is this happening for anyone else? Is there anything left to try? 

Note - I own the game through Microsoft and I also have access on XBox GamePass. Neither works. I cannot access realms or anything multi-player. I am stuck on version  1.17.1005.70 

Also, the update DOES work for my account when I play on my Nintendo Switch (not sure if this is relevant but adding in case it helps).

Hi Tia, although a longshot as well. Have you tried using an alternate DNS?
Settings -> General -> Network Settings -> Advanced settings -> DNS settings -> Manual
Here you can enter an alternative DNS address like Google's DNS 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 (https://developers.google.com/speed/public-dns) or choose your own. If this doesn't work, please set it back to automatic so the Xbox gets the DNS from your ISP provider through your router.

Please understand that any DNS server can track your surfing behavior and websites you visit (including ISP's), before making any changes.

Hi, I am having the exact same issue on the Xbox Series X where I am stuck in update 1.17.10 and it keeps saying that I am up to date, even though that it updates perfectly fine on my PC and my friends Series X using my account. I tried doing the solution with the manual DNS server but nothing worked and it still said that I did not need an update. And yes, I tried just about everything else such as factory resetting the console over 5 times, resetting my network settings multiple times, reinstalling the game, using different accounts, switching between wired and wireless, but nothing is working at all...

 KillerbeeNL, yes I changed the DNS to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 and restarted the console. Nothing changed. I then uninstalled the game, restarted the console and checked the DNS yet again (still as above) and reinstalled. It still says 1.17.1005.70 and that it is up to date (nothing to install), as Reginald above me said for their's too. Also similar to their issue, I AM able to log into MC on my Switch and it is updated to 1.18 as well as on my friend's console Xbox X). 

 

Additionally, now, all of my old worlds (from 1.17) are showing as "corrupted" when last week, they worked fine. Are these known issues for the 1.18 update?

A friendly reminder, this has been going on for me since like a week or so after the 1.17.10 update came out. I just assumed when a new update came it would fix itself but sadly it did not. Any genuine fix for this would mean the world to me though!!! Thanks.

Update! It's solved! Thanks to someone on Reddit, we found a solution! 

They told me to check the xbox insider hub and remove anything related to Minecraft. Despite having done factory resets, this was still active for me! If you are in the same boat that I was, I highly suggest trying this. I'm thrilled that it worked!

Glad to hear you have found a solution. This is more like a Xbox / insider issue than a Minecraft problem. Hopefully in the future you will not run into issues like these.
