For those having this issue:

Are you signed in (in the store and/or in the game) to the same Microsoft account that the game was purchased with?
Have you tried signing out of your account and signing back in?

Xbox One S - Same issue. I've used "Report a Problem" over the course of 4 months with no prevail. I'm not getting any updates. I'm just glad I have my phone. Able to play 1.18+ on it...

I am having the same issue here, I'm unable to update past 1.17.10. If the option to make it into beta was included in the launcher under installations then I would be happy. I am not sure if it is to do with the location of the file folder being moved perhaps.

Called Xbox the other day. They don't have a solution for this and told me to reach out to devs. Sofurther updating in regards to my last update 6 days ago.

Edit: Furthermore, I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling, uninstalling, waiting a month and then reinstalling, uninstalling, opt into beta, wait a gew days, reinstall, and every methid Xbox Support gave me. Nothing's working.

I have tried everything too, one issue that's related to this is when the game me is uninstalled from the xbox launcher is that if you search the game in the windows store app, it says free trial. Though it sounds like a conflict between xbox app and Windows store app.

On the Mobile Xbox app the Minecraft on my Android Lenovo M8 Tablet is saying it's Minecraft - Preview. Also named the same on the Microsoft Store App called Minecraft Preview for Windows so that means you get to have the stable version and the preview one too. Install from the Windows Store Minecraft for Windows, then search Minecraft Preview for Windows.

For Xbox Players:

I managed to figure out a solution that might work for you. The following things are what I checked and/or changed. I am unsure which one did it, but it may be worth a shot:

Check for outdated (old) profiles on your console. Remove them.
Check content restrictions on each profile (including profiles not used often).
If you have the Xbox Insider Hub, ensure you're not enrolled in the following. If you are, try leaving these and see if Minecraft updates to 1.18.12 (or later).
1. Minecraft Accessability Beta
2. Xbox Accessibility Beta

NOTE: Try these in any desired order. Hopefully one of them works for you. If one does, please say something here to help your fellow Minecrafters.

EDIT: PC players, check your Insider hub the PC equivalant of these. If you do, try leaving them. If it works, please update us here.

Nice one! It is Working on PC

I left the preview for beta Minecraft and flight. (insider Hub)

Then uninstalled the game on (Xbox app PC) and then went to the insider hub and joined the Minecraft windows 10 beta and installed it again on Xbox pc app.

Resolving as “cannot reproduce” as this is an issue with XBox Insider Hub enrollments and not a bug in Minecraft.
