Greetings to whomever takes the time to read this. I have had 2 controllers, both being under a year old, the second one being under 4 months old, and every time I use Minecraft on the Playstation 5, after maybe 2 months, the game starts having drift issues with whichever move stick I used more. The first one had the left move stick problems, and the second one has the right stick having problems. They started having problems in minecraft, then about a few weeks later, the drifting goes into other games. The controllers never had problems with drifting before playing the game, and my ps4 controller does perfectly fine whether being on Android or the ps5, so I am a little curious on if it is specifically due to the game not being able to handle the upgraded controller, because it stinks having to consistently get a new controller. π I hope greatly that this issue can be seen and hopefully resolved. Thank you very much for your time.

Problem is that I bought the 2nd one in the post for minecraft only. I have a 3rd one that hasn't touched minecraft, bought at the same time, and it hasn't had problems. I play destiny 2 with the 3rd controller as well as Borderlands 3, burnout paradise, and others, which gives more wear and tear than minecraft ever could, imo. I just am hoping of something at least being looked at. πΒ
If the controller drifts only when playing Minecraft, then it might be Minecraft problem (I would try lowering sensitivity in options).
However, if, as you mentioned, the same controller drifts in other games, then this is not Minecraft problem but hardware issue with the controller (surely Minecraft does not cause drift when you are not playing Minecraft). There were some reports after PS5 release that those controllers might be prone to drift problems due to limited life expectancy of their sticks.
Thank you for your report!

Again, as mentioned, I use one ps5 controller for Minecraft and Minecraft Dungeons only at this point. I had dropped the sensitivity to being the same as other games I've played, but it still has the same problem even after all of the updates. I'd imagine that if the game was reworked and a ps5 version of it and Minecraft Dungeons were to come out, that the problem would be solved, and possibly be greater because of it using the abilities that ps5 has to offer, including of getting even more options in the marketplace specifically for the updated graphics and haptic feedback.

Until then, I'll be using a ps4 controller and the problematic ps5 controller it already messed up so that I don't waste 80$ on a new controller every 3 - 4 months.

Please stop marking this as resolved. A simple Google will show you many threads across multiple sites complaining about it.
The drift is unique to Minecraft, it doesnβt happen on other games. It can make playing Minecraft on PS almost unbearable at times.Β
This is not a hardware issue. Please fix it!!Β
This is a controller issue.
Drift is caused by wear and tear.
Maybe if you go to the PS website there might be a place were you can send your controller and they will fix it.
Hope this helps π
