I was visiting a mineshaft when I came upon a chest in a cart part way in the wall. I tried to go into it using the left trigger but found I couldn’t. It took me a few moments but found my Y button (open inventory) was not working. At first I thought this was a problem with my controller but I happened to switch out of Minecraft and I found both were working outside of Minecraft. Further testing showed that this was only happening in the game, if I opened marketplace or left the game world functionality was restored. I did find out I could make the buttons work again in gameplay by save&Exiting and then launching the world again. The mineshaft I was in ultimately had 4 chest in mine carts and I found 3of4 of them expressed this problem. using a normal chest did not exhibit this.

Glad to know it’s resolved. When will I get the fix? I’m on the latest beta. It seems that several of the bugs fixed in the latest release, 1.18.2, have NOT been done in the beta. This is going to cause a lot of people to double report problems that have already been fixed. I’m on Xbox and cannot casually switch in and out of the beta to see which version a bug is resolved in. Expectation is the beta will have the latest.
