Would it be accurate to say that you are seeing random shadows on the sides? Are there any blocks underneath or behind the slabs?
It does look like an issue with shadows. There are blocks behind some slabs while others don't have any blocks behind them. There's also a mixture of full size smooth sandstone blocks and double stacked smooth sandstone slabs. It may be related to MCPE-54410 as some of the slabs are darker than the full blocks

Looking at this report again, I don’t see anything that definitively distinguishes the issue from MCPE-54410, so I am resolving as a duplicate.
This may be related to MCPE-54410 however what I'm seeing only appears on the sides of the slabs
