Choosing a new skin defaults to the Steve skin/previous skin

Whenever I try and use a new skin I’ve bought previously, it loads a Steve/Alex skin, with the only exceptions being the Battle and Beast and Legacy skins. Those will say equip and I can use them, but the others just say loading and never let me equip them. I’ve bought a few skin packs, and not being able to use them is frustrating. I’ve seen other posts mention this issue in older versions, but clearly the problem keeps happening in newer updates. PLEASE fix this. I will attach images to hopefully help you visualize what I am dealing with.
