This is a problem that I have been experiencing for a year now. Every time I click on my friends Minecraft world the background screen freezes on connecting to multiplayer game and then says unable to connect to world.

Make sure that both you and your friend are on the same version of Minecraft (1.18.12), and is this on a realm?
