When using shears on a beehive, the honeycomb either disappears entirely or appears on top/behind the hive.

When using a redstone contraption to auto-harvest the honeycomb, it rarely goes into the hopper below and most of the time despawns in the aforementioned locations.

I have an observer facing the left side of the beehive with redstone connected to a dispenser (facing the rear of the hive) that has shears in it.

When the hive fills with honey, the circuit completes and the shears remove the honeycomb.

It doesn't matter if I use shears manually or use the redstone contraption I described, the honeycomb either disappears completely or it appears either above or behind the beehive. When going afk, the honeycomb just despawns without going into the hopper below.

Where do you expect the honeycomb to go when sheared? It is important to include the expected behavior in bug reports, and for maximum clarity, please follow the recommended format.

It is possible to work around the random direction of the honeycomb by using a different farm design.

We are tracking essentially the same issue at MCPE-60031, so I have resolved this report as a duplicate.
