Massive portions of chunks below Y=0 are missing

Massive portion of the underground missing, slight visual difference when above ground (Missing chunks). Reloading the world caused small bits of land to load in, but there is no sign of change. I didn't have any data on this world, so no builds were affected.

This is a known issue mentioned in the 1.18.30.26/27 changelog:

Older worlds that have areas unexplored since before 1.18 may experience issues in those areas with below y=0 not generating correctly. We suggest that you make backup copies of your worlds, and avoid opening pre-1.18 worlds in this Beta/Preview build.

I had this happen on a world that was made post-1.18.2 and the missing chunks were previously explored.

This issue should be fixed in 1.18.30.30/31:

We have addressed an issue from the last beta that caused chunks below y=0 to become corrupted. The chunks will no longer become corrupted but any chunk that was affected will revert to its original world generation.
