Placing a block above the redstone dust crashes the game. After which, re entering will cause the game to crash again. I have attached files of the red stone circuit which is supposed to be of an elevator

It's hard to tell exactly from the screenshot due to the resource pack you have installed, but it looks like that is a filled cauldron being pushed by the piston.
