While riding in/on a boat, minecart, horse, donkey, mule, llama, or pig, the player is unable to open their inventory

I am on xbox and I have also had this problem while in boats. I tried pressing both x and y, and neither work, even though y accesses my inventory every other time. This was also a problem when I tried opening a chest boat, so that I can't access the chest. I haven't had this problem while on horses, and I haven't tried it in mine carts.Â
