When new chunks are loaded at night, bee nests spawn with no bees

Exploring new areas at night causes bee nests to spawn with no bees inside. Exploring during daytime produces bees as expected.

I cannot reproduce this. I created a new world with seed 1386203392314492889, set time to midnight and daylight cycle off. I then searched until I found a bee nest at -1971 80 -618. When I switched time to day bees came out of the nest.

Try harvesting the nest with silk touch at night. There are no bees.

I used the same seed and coordinates with time set to midnight and collected the nest with silk touch. Then I set time to day and placed down the nest. Bees came out.

Just because you cannot reproduce it doesn't mean it's not a problem... I just explored 9 full sized maps and every bee nest i discovered and collected at night stacked together. Placing them down during the day produced no bees. I am currently playing on Xbox but I also noticed it on PC.

Maybe the stacking is what triggers the issue then? You did not make that step explicit until now. I’ll leave the report open for now until I can test it again or someone else can corroborate.

Bug reports should have explicit steps to reproduce whenever possible. We cannot send an issue to the developers unless we can reproduce it or multiple people from the community confirm that they are affected. You can read more about the process here.

I do not know what you consider explicit instructions, and I would assume that multiple nests would be harvested if you are searching for them.

Is this still an issue for you in the latest version? Also, when you collect the nests, are you putting campfires under them first?

I tested it again just now in 1.19.2 and the results were more confusing than the last time. I grew a bunch of trees to get hives because I was having a very hard time finding them naturally spawned. Hives harvested at night from those trees all had 3 bees in them and did not stack. I then spent another another large amount of time finding a naturally spawned hive and when I harvested it, it stacked with one of the other hives that I harvested before. But when I placed these down, even the stacked ones, during the day, three bees came out of all of them.

Thank you for your report!
