When being launched by a slime block, sometimes you just stop in midair after getting launched. Occasionally you also get stuck inside the slime block and end up clipping through blocks though I didn't record that happening.

This is only an issue with slime blocks pushing you horizontally? Also, is it only an issue for players, or does it happen with any mob?

No, it also happens vertically sometimes but because it happens at random it was hard to catch it in the video. I haven't tried it with mobs so I can only say that this is a player issue.
