Can't Earn Achievements even in legit survival world

On the world settings screen does it say whether or not achievements can be earned?
What specific achievement(s) have you tried?

First of all I was able to log in to my account and secondly because I wanted to complete all the achievements before I did I downloaded achievement world on mcpdl, I checked to see if the world menu of the world is achievements cannot be earned and I didn't see anything wrong, I tried all the available achievements that I could do immediately in the world but none of them worked. I forgot to say that at first I tried to survival for a long time and even with basic achievement I didn't get anything.
