Just to be clear the achievements don't work at all. They all stayed at 0 since buying the game. Even the beginner ones, nothing shows up anywhere.

I have same problem and im looking for a solution. I have some achievements unlocked but from one moment to the next i was unable to unlock.
I attempted to uninstall and reinstall the game, but don't work.

I will follow this thread waiting for a solution.

I was also having the same issue but I FOUND THE SOLUTION! its really EASY

just Press windows button and "R" then type "services.msc" or just search services on the search icon. Find Connected Users Experience and Telemetry then Right click it and go to Properties then change the startup type to Automatic (i find mine disabled lol) then exit and launch Minecraft Bedrock and you will see in the achievements tab that it is now working 🙂 Goodluck!

I am having this issue, but the service connected user experience is running and automatic. 
i can earn achievements in realm but not when I download the same world. I get the message “achievements cannot be earned in this world” when looking in settings

For PC users, install the Xbox Console Companion App. I was able to unlock achievements once this app from the Microsoft Store was downloaded and opened.

i just fixed it for windows. if you don't have the xbox companion app then download it. If you've installed it and achievements still don't unlock then you have to turn on a setting called "connected user experience and telemetry" in the "services" settings. as soon as it started and i opened the xbox companion a whole bunch of achievements started popping,

to do that.

Press the Windows key and type (in the Windows search): Services. Now, in the list of results, right-click on the result of Services and choose Run as Administrator.

Then right-click on the Connected User Experiences and Telemetry service and choose Properties

Now, expand the dropdown of the Startup type and select Automatic

{*}Then click on the *Start button and apply your changes. If the mentioned service is already started, then restart it.

Still not able to unlock any achievements in survival on pocket edition version - 1.18.2.03

I'm not sure whether another moderator is watching this issue, but I decided to start watching it myself because I saw that it contained several dozen useless comments. The rule for comments is that it must provide additional information that might help the developers identify and fix the problem. "Me too" comments are not helpful; that's what the upvoting link is for. We also welcome comments about workarounds or partial solutions that others might find helpful. Note that several such comments appear above and you should try them if you haven't already.

Comments are not for:

• Asking whether anybody is working on the issue, how long it will take to fix, why it hasn't been fixed already, etc. The bug tracker is not a customer service site, it's a one-way information portal for passing information to the devs. The Mojira staff are volunteers. We have no access to the dev teams themselves in most cases and cannot answer your questions. If you look at the bug report heading, there is a field named ADO. This is the tracking number Mojang uses in their internal problem tracking system. If a report has an ADO number, they have the issue and will work on it after higher priority issues.

• Discussing the issue with one another, except that it's ok to share ways to fix or mitigate the problem (because that's likely to help the devs too).

• Complaining about and/or criticizing Mojira, Mojang, the devs, or the Mojira staff. This can get you banned.

I'll now address a couple of questions, though normally that's not our purpose.

A few of you have remarked that you created reports for this issue earlier than this report, and yours should have been the one other reports were closed as duplicates of. Other things being equal, we usually try to make the first report for an issue the one we use to track it. However, we can deviate from this practice for a number of reasons, some of which are:

• We weren't able to reproduce the problem using your report, but we succeeded using a later report.

• The later report contains more complete information, more specifics, is clearer and unambiguous, etc.

• By the time we recognized that your report and the later one were about the same issue, the later one was already being used to track it (it was confirmed, has lots of comments, was already passed to the devs, etc.)

Some people have commented about not wanting to turn on the Connected User Experiences and Telemetry service, even calling it spyware in a few cases. This is just silly. If Microsoft actually wanted to spy on you, why would they call it Telemetry and make it easy to turn off? Telemetry is simply automated delivery via a back channel of information that can provide more features and problem detections without requiring the user to get involved with technical details that don't interest them directly. Minecraft uses telemetry for reporting achievement acquisitions because achievements are managed by Xbox, not Minecraft; telemetry is just an easier way to pass it from one to the other. If you want achievements, you have to have telemetry, that's all there is to it. (But if you insist, you can turn it off and still play the game.) Note that telemetry is a Windows infrastructure component. It's used far lots more than Minecraft, and even in Minecraft it's used for more than just achievements. For example, it's used to report crash data when MC crashes.

What I did was made sure that in the services, all the xbox things were set to automatic and the connected user expiriences and telemetry was also automatic, then restarted them all. Then I made sure that the Xbox Console Companion was istalled and made sure all the xbox apps were up to date. Then I unistalled both Minecraft Windows and the launcher, reinstalled them, then achievments worked.

P.S. Don't forget to back up any worlds you have

I've looked at the NBT data of your world and it looks like the hasBeenLoadedInCreative tag is off, so you should be able to unlock achievements. Have you tried making a copy of your world?

@unknown: I downloaded your world from Google Drive and loaded it into MC on my PC. I immediately noticed that it appears in the world list with the world type "Survival – Experimental", meaning that at some point you turned on one of the Experiments toggles (specifically, the Caves and Cliffs toggle) in the world settings. Doing this permanently disqualified the world from ever being used to earn further achievements.

There are no longer any Experiments toggles turned on in the world because there is no longer any Caves and Cliffs toggle, since 1.18 added the C&C as standard features. I believe that at the time you created this ticket, use of Experiments features was not exposed in the worlds list, so there was no longer any indication to the user that experimental features had been used and achievements were disabled. Thus, we were not able to figure out what the problem was. But by taking another look now and finding the "Survival – Experimental" designation, and in addition looking into the world save and finding out that Experiments: Caves & Cliffs had been toggled on, it all makes sense and is working as intended.

Before you ask, it's not possible to reactivate the ability to earn achievements in this world. At the time you opened it with Caves & Cliffs enabled, the game would have generated data for the chunks around your character. The format of that data was experimental and isn't compatible with 1.19. You might still be able to open it on 1.19, but it might crash unexpectedly or be broken in some other way, so it's not advisable (except that you could inspect it, which might allow you to recreate it as a new world). This is the kind of problem you are warned about by Mojang at the time you turn on an Experiments toggle.

Everybody else: Now that I know the resolution to the original issue and that it was not caused by a bug, that leaves many, many others of you who submitted reports that were closed as duplicates of this one. Some of them probably are legitimate duplicates because, like the reporter in this case, you have enabled Experiments and didn't realize doing so would permanently disable earning achievements.

I expect we'll eventually resolve this ticket without a fix since the reporter didn't have an actual bug, but there are still dozens of you who created "duplicate" (not really, I now know) tickets that need to be addressed. Mojang apparently found some issues in the code, because they have tickets for it in their internal bug tracker, but I can't look at those tickets to find out what they found, so I need to do some research. Once I have more info, I'll be able to tell you how we want to proceed getting your bug reported. I should know something by the end of the week. If you don't hear from me by then, leave a comment to ping me; I'm watching activity on this report.

Well, it turns out the wiki was wrong and I was wrong to have trusted it. Turning on an Experiments toggle does not disable achievements. I'm sorry if my mistake has caused anybody to do something they would otherwise not have done.

My previous explanation for the issue in this bug report is wrong and should be ignored.

Mojang informs me that of the two bug tickets in the internal tracker, one was closed as obsolete (which probably means that the code containing the bug was rewritten as part of an unrelated fix, and the bug was fixed as a side effect of the rewrite) and the other is still open and waiting for a fix. Presumably, that second one is being used to track this issue.

If you submitted one of the many duplicate reports for this issue, and your report doesn't mention the specific achievement you're having a problem with, be aware that a fix for the issue in this report may not fix your problem. Unless you know that your issue affects multiple achievements, you should always tell us which achievement you're having a problem with and what you did to fulfill its requirements. (Even better is to attempt to resolve it with the folks at the Minecraft Community Support discord before submitting a bug report. This is likely to solve your problem very quickly if it's just a case of you misunderstanding the requirements for the achievement.)

@unknown: If you're still having this issue, could you please tell us which achievements you were trying to earn and what you did to fulfill their achievements?

I'm having the same issue on Windows 10 v1.19.20.  Achievements never pop up.  There is no way to track them in-game. 

I don't have any creative or cheats loaded.  I uninstalled the game, deleted all worlds and reinstalled. There is no interface in my version of the game to even view the achievements.

OMG I found them.  The potion bottle icon.  I AM getting the achievements, the game just never tells me that I'm getting achievements. 

The game does not notify me when I get an achievement.

I see that I completed the Rabbit Season achievement on 8/16/22 but the game never told me I got the achievement.  It never popped up or appeared in any chat box.

Hello. On Android device it still not work. I created survival world with no toggles changed, cheats off, and so on, version 1.19.30. There are some people gave some advices but all of they for PC, and no for android device. Is it bug that achievements not unlocking?

Can confirm the issue is still real and I can't earn achievements either, on windows or iOS device, completing the required steps for achievement does not grant the achievements

In my case I play on windows 10 and xbox constantly stops recognizing game achievements. The few times I was able to get them to work was by completely formatting my pc and installing minecraft and xbox, the basics to play with achievements. I suspect that updating xbox apps such as the xbox game bar to newer versions causes it to stop working.

I am having this as well as my 3 children. We are trying to fill a double chest with cobble, nothing, get all colors of wool for them nothing, tame stray cats.. nothing. Lastly sneak 100 no matter how many times on a fresh survival world I try this I can't get the achievement. We are logged in on windows 11 machines with XBOX app working correctly as far as I can tell. We are playing on the latest 1.19.41

Can confirm (1.19.60.24 preview) but I had already unlocked most of the achievements

I'm realm owner and my achievements don't get registered. We do achievements together and other players get them completed but I don't (multiple examples, most obvous is trade with villager at world hight build limit). It's not a game settings issue since it works ok for others. Please consider this behaviour when working on the fix.

Edit: Tried again with "Wax on, Wax off". Co-player received it, I didn't. Win10, Xbox and Xbox Game Bar were both turned on.

Please set me know if you need realm code or any other info.

This seems to be resolved for me in 1.19.6003.0 I successfully unlocked 3 achievements that I haven't been able to since first reported it.

I have a bug in my Minecraft world because I fulfill the requirements to get the achievements but they don't unlock or start progress I made sure I didn't use creative.

I already tried to do the requirements to release the achievements but they are not unlocked

I’m having this same issue in 1.19.63. Unsure what caused it or if started in 1.19.62 (my last achievement was obtained on 22Feb23) but I know I should’ve gotten at least four and didn’t. I don’t know how to recreate the bug bc I don’t know what caused it. The world was never opened in creative, no betas, behavior packs, etc. I play alone and my settings screen doesn’t have any notification saying I can’t get them on that world. I made a copy of my world and tired for the slime achievement and it didn’t work (it should’ve). I deleted the game and reinstalled it. Didn’t work. I created a new world and befriended a cat. It didn’t update my progress. So it’s not my worlds. It’s my game. I’m unsure of how to fix this. There have been so so so many issues with the 1.19.6x updates, I’m wondering if this is one too. Please heeeeelllp. It’s disheartening. 

Edit: I wanted to add, I play on the Switch and it seems a lot of other switch players are having the same issue, according to the Reddit. So it seems that the issue may be related to this update on the switch. I don’t have Minecraft on other platforms to test this, sadly.

I am playing on Switch with the latest Minecraft version available and haven't been able to unlock a single achievement since I stared a couple days ago.

I have done multiple troubleshooting but none of them worked.

I know a little about Minecraft and requirements so I know that the issue is not on my part. Here some examples of different edition that I have previously completed;

Minecraft for Windows 10 - 100%

Minecraft Xbox 360 Edition - 100 %

Minecraft Xbox One Edition - 100%

Minecraft for Android - 100%

Minecraft for IOS - 100%

Minecraft for Xbox Series - 100%

Minecraft for Nintendo Switch - 0%

Realms and all worlds, including my world, have not been unlocked since 2/14.

I recently changed phones, and I couldn't sync via google account.. I reinstalled the game and it has started recording achievements.. I don't know all the particular cases, but I've been syncing via Google account for 4 or 5 years and on 3 or 4 different devices... and it is possible (speaking theoretically) that the error originates from there... from a change of device with synchronization... update... The problem seems to be setting up a private DNS.. on this device which is new, I hadn't added it when I installed minecraft... I use DNS mainly to block ads ... I went back to the game some time later and again, there are no achievements... And since adding the DNS was the last thing I did, I deactivated it and again I had achievements activated.. 

I hope this information is useful to someone else.

@unknown: Yes, that might be very useful and enlightening for other people as well as for the developers. So let me ask for a clarification: By "setting up a private DNS", do you mean providing a custom DNS host name in your Android settings?

For me, this is at Android Settings > Network & Internet > Private DNS, and has 3 choices: Off, Automatic, and Private DNS Provider Hostname. If it's the same for you, which choice did you have when it didn't work, and what did you change it to?

I have looked this setting up and it appears to be something people can use to block ads, enhance privacy, or avoid regional access restrictions, which is something I'm sure many people do. So it might be the underlying problem for a lot of people having this issue. Thank you for following up and letting us know about it.

Hello. That is great information that it might be related to ad blockers or private DNS!

I turned off ad blocking at the network level for my Eero WiFi, restarted my iPad, and loaded up my old world that I am sure qualified for achievements. (I had a ladder to build height and a drop to bedrock, also a clay flower pot). Unfortunately it did not work for me. 😞

I also tried on my cell phone hot spot, and it did work! Hmm..

[edit] I turned off all extra eero features like Advanced Security, and it works!

Can you find out what needs to be available for achievements to work? A certain website, a CDN, an IP address range, etc.? Ty

I use a custom DNS to block ads as you mention, located in Android Settings > Network & Internet > Private DNS... In the same way, the three options appear, deactivated, automatic and custom... I only tried it in deactivated and custom, I didn't test it in automatic.

@unknown: We here at Mojira are just just volunteers from the community; we don't fix the problems ourselves, we forward reports to Mojang Studios. I have informed MS that there has been a development/discovery regarding this issue. It's now up to them to look for how it related to the problem.

(As a guess, it might be that the Xbox server that serves Minecraft achievements only has an IPv4 address on some DNS servers. When you use a custom DNS server on an IPv6 device—a mobile phone, for example—it may be returning a DNS "not found" error so your device is unable to report that you've earned the achievement. But I'm only guessing.)

Unfortunately, there was no change in the Switch version, whether the DNS was set to automatic or manual.

It's starting to seem like this ticket combines multiple issues that will most likely have separate solutions. If so, we will probably need to split them into separate tickets.

I need everyone's feedback on which of the following groups you belong to. (You can belong to multiple groups.)
Group 1: You're unable to earn achievements while playing on a Switch.
Group 2: You're unable to earn achievements while playing on an Android device and
--Group 2A: You have not tried/cannot try changing the Private DNS setting, or
--Group 2B: Changing the Private DNS setting does not solve the problem, or
--Group 2C: Changing the Private DNS setting solves the problem, but you're not willing to leave it changed permanently, or
--Group 2F: Changing the Private DNS setting is a satisfactory solution for you. (You might want to use the "Stop watching this issue" link above in this case.)
Group 3: You're unable to earn achievements while playing on another platform. In this case please comment with the platform (Windows, Xbox, PS, iOS, etc.), how you connect (Wi Fi, wired connection), what kind of network you're attached to (Xbox Live, PlayStation Network, etc.), and 2 or 3 easy achievements you're unable to earn. (Note that some achievement gets may not remain pending if the attempt to contact the server fails. In this case, you may have to repeat the actions to earn the achievement at a later time.)

If you're not on an Android device but you're familiar with using the networking settings on your device and/or router, you might want to experiment with changing your Name Server (DNS) settings. If you learn anything this way, we'd love a comment about it! Note: Network settings are complex and can be difficult to correct once disturbed, so please only attempt this if you understand what you're doing.

I tried the recommendation with the dns on switch and no change. With any achievements. I should easily be able to get four and make progress on two more and none showed progress or popped. May be just a switch issue or some communication error between switch console and Microsoft achievements? 

If I sign in to the Android version I own with the account I use on the Switch version and play on my Realms, I could unlock the achievements without any special settings.
However, when I play on the Switch version, the achievements do not unlock. (Group 1)

Having the same issue. I'm new to Minecraft and joined a Realm, but somehow I never unlocked any achievement despite completing the same goals as my friends, who DID get the achievements. The Realm opened in 14-2-2023.

From the comments, it seems to be a bug that has been around for a long time.
Will this bug be fixed if we wait?

Many people who have not been able to get here are lamenting on social networking sites that the achievements have not been resolved.

with the release of 1.19.70 today, for me at least, the issue with achievements not unlocking on Switch for the 1.19.6x updates appears to be resolved. Thank you. 

After the update, I tried again and was able to unlock the [Whatever Floats Your Goat] achievement.
However, there was no in-game notification.

I tried to unlock the "With our powers combined!" achievement, but it was not unlocked.

I play Minecraft on Windows Edition, running Windows 10, connected via Wi-Fi, connected using my Microsoft account/Xbox account, gamertag 'braign' if that makes a difference, and am not able to earn any achievements - from making a crafting table, placing a sign, or smelting an iron ingot. My Xbox profile page shows me as 'in survival mode' when I have the game running, it also says how long I have played the game for (some 6days in total), but my achievements are at 0, and my 'blocks mined' and 'distance travelled' and 'mobs killed' stats are also at 0. I have some worlds with cheats enabled, some worlds without cheats enabled. Neither earns me achievements - but if I invite another player to my non-cheat-using worlds, they get the achievements correctly on their own accounts.

I also use the same account to log in to the Android version of the game, and that version DOES show my achievements correctly, they show up on my Xbox profile. I have tried fixes to my computer, enabling diagnostic services, all the Xbox services are enabled.

Edit: Thank you for the info, I will try disabling the firewall. I wasn't aware that the two games that I paid for separately share one achievement pool :/ that is a shame, but now I can focus on trying achievements that I don't already have on Minecraft for Android, which should save me some time.

Suggestion: Try temporarily turning off your computer's firewall. If you can earn achievements with it off, you need to change your firewall's rules. (How you need to do this isn't something we can help you with because it depends on many variables. I suggest asking for community help at the Community Support Discord).

Just to be sure you know: You can only earn an achievement once per gamertag. In other words, if you earned the achievement for making a crafting table on your mobile device, you cannot earn it again on your PC (and it should show as earned already there). I mention this because you said you earned some achievements on your mobile, and the ones you said you didn't earn on the PC are some of the very first achievements new players earn so you probably earned them under Android.

Group 1: I am unable to earn achievements while playing on a Switch

I've also been having this problem. I am on the Nintendo Switch. The game's able to tell I've been playing, but I don't get achievements.

I'm in the switch. I should have got the achievements The Beginning?, The Beginning and The Beaconator. I got none of them. We put our effort into the achievements etc and we don't get rewarded. Fix it. No workaround. 

Achievements are still not unlocking on Switch as of 1.19.81.

 I'm not getting achievements on my Switch and neither are my realm members who play on Switch. I do get achievements on my PS5 and other members who play on other devices (not the Switch) are getting achievements.

For anyone experiencing this issue on Nintendo Switch, there's a separate ticket for achievements not unlocking on that platform: MCPE-163948.

Closing this as Cannot Reproduce.
If you still can't unlock any achievements, make sure your internet connection is working correctly and that your firewall/antivirus software is not blocking Minecraft or Xbox services from connecting to the internet. For more information on achievements, please refer to the Achievements FAQ. 
If you're experiencing an issue with a specific achievement but can unlock other ones without any problems, make sure you're fulfilling the achievement's criteria (you can check the actual requirements here) as the in-game descriptions can be a bit misleading. If you still can't unlock the achievement, please log the issue as a separate JIRA ticket.

I managed to partially fix this bug, but I recommend being careful as this could lead to another bug

Basically, if your world is in realms, when you play, you will normally unlock your achievements. The problem is that many players (including me) are going through the REALMS-474 ( https://bugs.mojang.com/browse/REALMS-474 ), which does not allow you to download your world back, because for some reason, the game says it gives an error when downloading, allowing you to play only in realms, having to pay

Managed to fix this issue for myself by enabling all of the proper services, and then signing out and back in to the xbox app before launching minecraft. Was not working until I signed out and back in again.

I was having this problem too for weeks, and I just logged on and tried again, and it worked!! I had already done all of the other tricks mentioned earlier. This time, I opened the Xbox app and went to the Minecraft Launcher, hit the "..." and select Manage. Then I hit "Files" and then "verify and repair." I'm not sure if this is what actually got my achievements to work, but right after I did this, I went into to the games, punched a tree, and got an achievement!!!!!!

I’ve found a solution to this issue. It took some time, but after thorough research, I discovered that one of the services required to track achievements was disabled on my PC. You can check if the same issue is affecting you.

1. Press Win + R, type services.msc, and press Enter.

2. Look for Connected User Experiences and Telemetry. If it’s disabled, change its startup type to Automatic.

3. Also, check all the services starting with Xbox and set their startup type to Automatic.

After making these changes, restart your PC. Once it restarts, go back to services.msc and ensure that these services are running.
