For some reason only in the Bedrock version of the game coal has been generating very little. It takes much much longer to find coal in Bedrock edition. This has only started to happen since the 1.19 update and only on Bedrock. Java generation is fine but on Bedrock coal generates very little. I though it was me but the issue continued on the next 15 world I created. There may be an issue here...

How exactly did you determine that not as much coal as expected was generating?
Where exactly are you looking for coal (Y level)? Note that the Y levels of ore generation has changed in recent versions.
In a new 1.19 world I have found many large veins of coal at the expected Y levels.
