The last time I played I died and turned off my Xbox. I came back to it a day later and when I opened Minecraft their were texture issues, the graphics were in incorrect colours etc. i came out of it before attempting to load my world and realised it was updating. I waited for the game to update and then when I try and load my game it stops when the bar is full with the “building terrain” screen. I’ve tried uninstalling the game and reinstalling it, of which I have done twice to no avail. I don’t want to lose my world.

When you died before, did you properly save and quit the game before turn off your Xbox?
If not, your world may be damaged.
I would also recommend leaving it on the "building terrain" message for awhile (several hours) as it may be trying to repair your world.

I also experienced what sounds like the same issue; 2 days ago now, we were playing with 3 players split screen on PS4. One of the players (the primary player) died, and we decided that was the moment to leave. I'm pretty sure we saved the game as usual, but I'm not 100% sure. Next time we tried to load the world, it refused - stuck on 'Generating world / Building terrain' with a full bar. We tried a few things - killing and restarting the app, restarting the PS4, and nothing worked. We then tried leaving it for several (3 or 4?) hours in case that would help, but still no joy.

I have this issue on Switch. I died in the Nether in a pool of lava and rage quit as soon as I died. When I tried going back on, it got stuck on Building Terrain with a full bar.
I made a few copies of the world and succeeded in respawning but the original world is still stuck.
