Minecraft music not overridden by discs

When I put a music disc in a jukebox, the regular background gameplay music continues to play over it. Making both songs play at the same time. What is the purpose of the music discs if we cannot hear them over the regular game music? I've reported this bug once before, but you guys said it has been fixed. It has not been fixed. Hence why I'm doing it again. I am on Xbox. It is at least still happening on Xbox.
