Can't turn off Auto Jump

Searched but doesn't seem to be a problem reported by others. Can't turn off Auto Jump, moved slider to off but still active. Tried saving and reloading. Tried closing Xbox and reloading. Tried moving slider to turn on Auto Jump, loaded game. Saved. Reloaded game, moved slider to turn off Auto Jump. Saved, reloaded game. Auto Jump still active. Can't think of any other actions to try. Even tried loading the backup copy of the world - same problem. Also tried in another world but same problem. Tried clicking on 'Default Settings' but that had no effect. This occurs on both Survival and Creative. Tried uninstalling Minecraft and reinstalling. No effect, same problem. Tried deleting my profile and adding it back in (big mistake). Not only can I not [double negative!] turn off Auto Jump but when Minecraft had finished syncing my world, I had lost several hours work. Auto Jump makes working under water a real pain..I'm totally 'peed' off.
