When the "You Died!" screen is displayed on Minecraft Bedrock (Pocket Edition) 1.19.50.23 (I don't know if it also works in other 1.19+ versions and beta/previews) the emote button texture becomes different.

It looks to me like the button is just being disabled because you can't emote while dead.
