This issue isnt happening on my end but to my account. My friend accidentally muted me, or the game muted me for some reason one time and now cant unmute me. They flick the switch off and then when they go back on my profile I am muted again and we cant see any chat messages from eachother which is very annoying. I am using the Windows version of minecraft and they are using the Nintendo Switch version. We dont play on serers just the built in multiplayer on eachothers worlds. We are experiencing this issue also. One account is on Nintendo Switch, the other is an iOS device. They friended but after months of playing together accidentally blocked each other once, and now they cannot unblock or unmute each other.
Nothing helps. We restart Minecraft on both devices. We remove friend and add friend back. We unmute and/or unblock, maybe remute and/or reblock and then undo again. Try from both devices. No matter what, every time we go back to the find friends screen, the accounts are blocked for each other. We don’t want to lose their worlds or accounts or achievements or other friends and start over.
It’s very frustrating for our family. We will probably play a lot less Minecraft until this is resolved.
We discovered a work-around to resolve this issue on Nintendo Switch on a case-by-case basis. Go to the friend’s screen with the unblock switch. Toggle the switch to unblock, but don’t press B or any other button, and instead immediately press the Home button on the Switch controller. You may have to close the software as well. But when you return to Minecraft the friend unblocked status should remain intact.
I’ve had the same troubles, still hasn’t been fixed. I’m on switch and anything I’ve tried doesn’t work (clearing cache, archiving and reinstalling the game, deleting and reinstalling the game, and costumer support) nothing has worked. I also tried that work around trick on my switch earlier which one of the earlier comments, but that also didn’t do anything. Hope the problem is fixed soon.
This is happening with my daughters account too! Her little sister is muted and can't get unmuted and her friend is muted and can't get unmuted. It just automatically remutes it just like that! I have been working with customer service for months now and they said there is no estimate for it being fixed. It is a bug. I contacted Microsoft, Nintendo, Minecraft. I have spent money on the account and don't want to lose it. I hope they can fix the bug. She never muted or blocked her little sister (switch) so I don't know how this happened and her friend is on PC and they are muted and we can't unmute them.
