I was playing on the Lifeboat server. Switched to the 'Navigator' item (a compass), but in the hand the texture showed four of them. Turning off the current resource pack didn't do anything.

Unfortunately we don't accept issues related to External Servers here on the bug tracker, but please add more details if you think this also affects multiplayer over Realms, LAN, or XBL.
I'd suggest contacting the server owner directly or seeking help on the Minecraft forums.

I'm having this same bug on all my local worlds. Its really annoying to be honest. And I can confirm my bug is purely local as I never play on servers. And I have the screenshot as well.
